Second - I too have many (there is a character limit here lol) mental illness conditions. I never had a problem with the costume to begin with. That being said...The "staff" Sindi is one of my favorites. If you ruin it I will hunt you down. :grin:

Well @Ian, I think you have done fabulous with this site. Been along on this ride for over 12 years. Come here for an escape from the challenges of real life. Dealing with customers can be very distressing. Never been offended by Mental, skinny,fat, or any other costumes. If they are cute, I will buy them. But I have never judged their intent or purpose. You have done a great deal for all of us to enjoy the site. Keep on doing it. I feel lucky to have a caring owner who tries to make our play the best he can. Love the changes, love Queen ELeka items, and job well done for you and the artists who work hard to make the fun things for us.

A little interesting that this is something that is supposed to be a "if you can't handle it, don't play" charade but changing alcoholic beverages was received so differently

Let's look at this from a critical standpoint.

Marapets Limited is registered as a Business that is rolling in thousands per month.

And this is the most likely the head owner that is speaking here.
( Or someone high up in the Staff. )

Businesses should remain at a neutral standpoint when it comes to content and what is being sold, and should be respectively make adjustments if users find certain content to be "offensive" and "upsetting".

The fact that Mr. Ian James injected his own personal opinion is highly unprofessional, and should be regarded as such.

I believe the opinion should be removed, as it does not make Marapets Limited look good as a Business.

Theoretically, imagine a big box retailer selling straight jackets and masks. When customers start complaining about what is being sold, what's the best response?

You make adjustments and make apologies, and change what's being sold.

Not by behaving in an unprofessional manner.

Imagine the owner of said big box company telling others "it's just a joke! If you're so offended, maybe this store isn't for you!"

Kinda ridiculous, but I'm hoping you get the gist.

One other point that I'd like to cover is that people are not easily offended these days -- the only thing that's changed is what people find offensive.

From now on, as a customer, I will no longer support this business, and will be going on an extended hiatus until things are respectfully changed.

Tbh at the end of the day - it's your site, your company, your rules. I always loved the fun cheekiness of the site. I think the change is very appropriate and great, and I find nothing wrong with the warning either, it's kinda necessary as once one thing is fixed - people move on to the next thing they don't agree with (right or wrong). I have people VERY close to me who struggle with mental issues, and yet still I agree with you. Cheers, Ian! Thanks for the updates!

I beg to differ with an above poster that people aren't easily offended these days. People are offended by EVERYTHING now, even to the point of being upset about something on a GAME. I have mental health issues and so does most of my family, but I think the costume is funny. That doesn't mean I think that real mistreatment of the mentally ill is funny.
