It's great to see new loyalty prizes and rewards fairy updates.

I hope we get to see more updated Staff pets. The Knutt looks great, though I admit, I really like the cute look of the Kidlet. The rest are so outdated.

@Editor Just a gentle reminder that many staff members themselves struggle with mental illness, including Ian himself.
As he said earlier elsewhere,
"it released 10 years ago after I got sick (mental health) and mara was to blame. I thought it was cute and funny and I agree that 'mental costume' is a bad name but it just shows how much mental health attitudes have changed in a decade which is great"

Of course you are entitled to your own opinion & as someone who's been hospitalized I understand your feelings, just wanted to give you a different perspective.

the original idea of this quest was because 10+ years ago I got sick from here and had to take a long hiatus to deal with my mental health issues

people deal with everything differently

I like to laugh about these things and not take them too seriously

I'm sorry you see this as a slap in the face but like the news said, Marapets is what it is and as I've spent over half of my life here, the content I create will obviously be based on my life/moods/mental state of the time

I'm not going to go back and change everything and anything because a few are offended

@Dulce Thank you for sharing that and for the kind way you shared it. Even though I don’t love the costume, I now can at least understand the reasoning behind keeping it. :)

@Editor Of course (: It's not my favorite costume either but I understand the context behind it all. I like to stick with cutesy dessert-themed pets anyway :p

@Editor I also deal with various mental health issues and I take it as a bit of fun. Some days I really do feel like that poor knutt and though I understand others may find it not to their taste, for me it provided a giggle.

It being renamed hasn't bothered me at all in the end - probably cos it still refers to me anyway :P but it is just in jest and lighthearted look what you lot do to us ;)

would I release it now? probably not

but it was 10 years ago, I was younger and my way of dealing with things is to laugh and I still think its a little funny/ironic because nothing has changed, marapets players do still drive us nuts!

my point is that marapets is what it is, the good and bad and I don't want to go down the path of changing/erasing stuff on here because a few are offended

Its ironic that coming on here has always helped my MH! I tend to keep to myself though & just find it quite chilling to potter around on here & take it as it is.. a game! I've never been offended at the costumes and just laughed at them when they came out (this doesnt mean i'm laughing at MH by the way :rolleyes: ) But yep times have changed I guess for the better but the idea for me for Mara is still to get away from everyday life even if its for an hour!!

I, too, suffer from mental health issues.

It's a costume and a game (a bunch of pixels). I don't like the costume so I won't be having a pet costumed as Staff. Still appreciate the effort put into the site as always, Ian & others.:blush:
