am i the only one who didn't find a problem with this news post?

your account is your responsibility.
not trying to be harsh but this can happen on any site if you have an easy to guess password.

the last time i heard, staff don't get paid for anything they do on this site so for them to spend hours and even days of their own time trying to fix a compromised account is amazing.

@Laura not sure if you just read the post; i'm coming back to it now and they updated the wording. i definitely have less of an issue now with the updated post! i think someone in comments quoted the original, which is the version i saw originally.

Like @Laura I never had an issue with the wording of the original post.

Every day we read about large companies suffering enormous data breaches, yesterday it was Singapore's largest healthcare group. In this day and age we cannot expect every website we go to to "protect" us. We need to take responsibility. We need to be aware if any site we used has been breached, and if so, change our passwords. There are many tricks for making memorable passwords that are unique for every site.

One other thing I don't recall seeing mentioned is the number of keyloggers that are out in the wild. Clicking the wrong thing can put everything we do at risk. If you doubt how we are all at risk for that, google the news about luminositylink RAT. We all need to be much more careful!

I don't remember getting asked to verify my account. I changed my password however couple days before this News post.
I also just use Facebook to sign into Mara.

I collect rainbow items for my gallery ^_^

Any idea why I came it to see 288 safari items in my inventory? I got a safari event alert saying I was in the top 100 and got prizes for that but where did the other plushies, ect come from? I moved them all to my attic to clear out space in my inventory. Many multiples of each item of plushies and I don't know what all. Thank you.

A friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you just the same. Friends and family are special nobody gets left behind or forgotten. I'm thankful for all my friends and family.

there was no data breach and this was 99% the fault of the players who had very, very weak passwords

we are doing our best, like we promise, to restore everything

but the issue is that this is EXPECTED of us and we are getting complaints like its our fault and we're not working fast enough

everything will be restored because we log everything and the site has been even more secured to stop it happening again...

BUT!

its really not fair for us, in the future, to be expected to spend hours/days/weeks of our time restoring your accounts if you don't keep it protected. this news post explains how you should and we forced everyone to ensure they are "safe" on here

nothing personal but for as long as there are people out there who are willing to spend days/months/years of their life causing trouble on here then we have to all make sure we are more secure
