MELTING SURFACE
THE GREAT MIGRATION.
(Introducing Mya.)
I felt the heat slowly and gradually lift off of where it used to be as I ran full speed dodging oncoming trees. I definitely was not running full speed and that was to the best of my intention. Everything happens so fast nowadays to where they just may just happen without you even being aware of the fact that it is happening.
I find that as time goes on things get harder, as they were. However, what if for instance you were taking on time, challenging it and instigating like it was your worst enemy, but you weren???t afraid. You were just going against it because you had nothing else to look forward to, or live for. Also you live to learn that no one has a happy ending and life???s not fair, nor are the people who live in it with you and unexpectedly become part of your so called life.
I knew things had gone too far and out of my control or negotiating when we had reached the edge of Boise Idaho. Washington was drawing closer with every minute of sprint we took. Rage and vengeance filled my head as we traveled as I knew more then anything, the last place I should be headed is Forks Washington.
Chapter 1.
The Unseen.
I sat fidgeting impatiently in the large leather chair which sat in front of a large glass mirror. I was starring blankly at my reflection with an uneasy and panicked feeling inside of me. There was nothing more intimidating then being left alone in Alice???s room.
Wardrobes and closets and untouched bags and boxes of clothes and shoes stared silently at me as I sat there restless.
I turned my head as I heard the slightest opening of the door but sighed when I saw nothing. I let my head fall back against the leather chair and sighed biting my smooth bottom lip. I stared at the door impatiently waiting for Alice to gracefully prance into the room with that familiar smile and twinkle in her eye.
When there was no sign of her I leaned forward and was ready to set off in a search. She had told me she???d be back momentarily and my momentarily limit was giving up.
???Looking for something???? A familiar perky, angelic voice asked softly as I was starting to rise from the chair. Alice was there next to me going through a dark maroon makeup bag.
???What took you so long? I was growing the urge to file a missing little people???s report on you.??? I exhaled sarcastically falling back against the chair once again.
???Ha-ha,??? she sneered giving me an unimpressed glare, ???I was just looking for this. Never really had to use it but I guess there???s always room for some change around here.??? Alice muttered as she would pull out pieces of make up examine them and place them back.
???I don???t need makeup.??? I muttered knowing she???d hear me anyway. Alice???s eyes slowly scanned me with an angry look.
???You promised, Bella!??? She complained as she crossed her arms across her chest.
I gave her a curious and questioning look as she glared at me. She stood so still, her perky looks vanished behind the angry and disapproving stare she gave me. Her short spiky black hair was neatly placed around the side of her face and even though she was angry and making a face her beauty was clearly visible.
???Alice?????? I moaned as I let my head fall back and closed my eyes.
???You said you wouldn???t protest and you???d let me do what I felt was necessary.??? Alice said sternly.
???Is makeup necessary???? I mumbled. I heard Alice growl and heard her teeth clench together.
???Must you be so stubborn???? Alice growled. My eyes flew open to see how strained she was and sighed. I knew I had a small chance on winning this protest anyway.
???Fine, fine,??? I groaned, ???Just don???t strain yourself to where it hurts.??? I muttered knowing how serious Alice took fashion. Alice???s smile once again reappeared and she clapped her hands together once.
???You???re going to look great Bella, don???t worry. No one escapes from me looking unimpressive.??? Alice smirked as she once again began pulling makeup out.
She then pulled out a burgundy color lipstick and smiled as if she was pleased. She examined it and tossed it through her fingers a few times before stating, ???This looks like your color.??? She muttered ever so slightly. I gave a small groan and carefully looked at her. She ignored me and continued focusing on the lipstick.
???Oh!??? She exclaimed loudly and happily. Her face was lit up in a smile and she looked extremely happy. ???I have a dress that???s exactly this color. I took the time out the other day to find a few dresses that would suit you, and personally I did a good job in my perspective.??? Alice said happily as she placed the makeup bag on a shelf and spun around in circles to the direction of her closet.
???You spent your spare time visioning me in dresses???? I asked with a weird expression on my face. My eyebrows pulled together and I spun the chair around to look at her. She stopped spinning right in front of her closet door.
???Yes.??? She said simply giving me an innocent look. She was as still as a statue and her pale marble like faces shifted into serious mode. I continued giving her my weird expression as I thought more and more about it. Her face loosened into a smile after I stared at her that way for awhile.
???Should I be disturbed or thankful???? I asked biting my lip with a slight laugh. She gave a chiming like laugh and dashed into her closet. And then, as soon as she disappeared she was back again with a portable large rack of clothing. My face then dropped as I stood up and walked over to the rack.
Alice???s face was filled with pride as she watched my expression carefully.
???Yeah, I???m officially disturbed. You purposely saw me in all these???? I muttered grabbing a dress and yanking it around a little.
???Bella, these are good dresses you can???t be yanking them around like that!??? Alice hollered and I immediately stopped touching the dress and backed away. ???Besides, we???re sisters now. There???s nothing you need to get worked up over.??? She muttered with a smirk.
For some reason then I felt the need to blush, although I couldn???t because technically it was impossible. Ever since I had become a vampire things were gradually different. Things had greatly changed in good and bad ways both. On the down side, we were invaded by the Volturi and I was evidentially a great target of which the Volturi wanted to take in as theirs. Even though neither I nor Edward would allow it, they wanted Alice, Edward and my daughter Rennesme. That was one of the major benefits, and something that meant the world to me. My daughter, my very own daughter was everything to me. She resembled Edward???s beauty and had a few of my traits as well. Her hair and eyes resembled mine and the major thing she resembled was being half human. She was very rare in the world being half human and half vampire, and was too, a threat to the Volturi. Another benefit that I had found interesting was that I and Edward were gradually closer. I knew why this was however; it was because Edward was always careful and protective over everything he did around me when I was human. Now however it was like letting him take a break for awhile and relax, I could fend for myself now. Although, no doubt Edward would never let me face danger in the face alone, for that was just him being himself.
???Alice, this really isn???t?????? I started to complain but remembered I wasn???t supposed to just as she cut me off.
???Bite your tongue Bella, all of these dresses look amazing on you. I just have to find which one looks most beautiful on you.??? She said examining the rack closely. She ran her fingers delicately along the rack of clothes while mumbling to herself in a tone I could not even understand.
She finally found a dark blue satin dress and held it up in the light before she pressed it against my body and pursed her lips. She looked for a moment and shook her head as if to change her mind and placed the dress back on the rack. I didn???t know why exactly Alice wanted to dress me today; I could suppose she was just bored.
Alice picked out a few other dresses and did the same thing as before and changed her mind with each of them. She scanned quickly in silence not conflicting me in any of it. I watched with interest as she worked. She looked professional the way she scanned and ran her fingers along the rack.
She was finally at the end section of the dress and I could tell se was focusing hard. It almost seemed like she was focusing way too hard. This was strange to me but probably typical Alice when it came to her wardrobe work.
She then ever so slightly grasped a hold of the rack???s top metal bar. Her eyes narrowed and she began to take slow breaths. This surprised me and I backed away with wide eyes. I didn???t know someone could get so involved in work that it looked like they were in pain.
???Alice don???t strain yourself, it???s only a dress. Anything will do fine; you said I looked good in all of them.??? I said laughing slightly. ???Alice seriously it???s okay.??? I said giving one last emotionless laugh. I didn???t want her to do this anymore she was worrying me this wasn???t the original Alice.
Just then Alice griped the rack???s top metal bar harder and the metal snapped in her hand. The whole bar fell to the ground as did the dresses with a huge crash and bang. Alice???s eyes were dark and wide and she still grasped a metal piece of bar.
???Alice!??? I hollered and was next to her in an instant. I held both of her shoulders tightly and shook her. ???Alice what???s wrong? What do you see???? I hollered. Her face was blank and her eyes were sill dark she was having a long vision???longer than usual.
???Jasper! Carsile! Esme! Anyone!??? I hollered out although never took my stare away from Alice???s eyes. Sometimes I wished I could see what she was seeing to see what it???s like to see how it felt.
That next second Jasper was in the room shoving his way protectively towards Alice. He moved my hands with force and grasped Alice the way I did and shook her slightly gentler.
???Alice???Alice, can you hear me???? he said in his smooth silky voice. Alice stood their as if she was paralyzed or froze in time while she was in shock of something horrifying. ???Alice, please if you can hear me say something, anything. Alice please speak!??? Jasper pleaded grasping her tighter. ???Alice!??? he said with more fear and enthusiasm.
I didn???t know what to do I felt helpless, as if standing there was the only thing I could do.
???Is she okay???? I asked moving closer again.
???I don???t know.??? Jasper spat in a panicked tone. ???She???s never had this long of a vision.??? He said in a quieter voice. This worried me as well and I moved behind Jasper but gave him enough space.
???Alice, please???please just say something.??? I said gently. If there was anything that could ease the tension more in the room it would be for Alice to just move her lips, or twitch or say something. But, she was motionless and blank. She showed no sign of movement or will to, and this is what made me more nervous than ever.
CHAPTER 2.
Perceiving Thoughts.
What else could I do besides sit there and hope that Jasper somehow could miraculously snap her out of this hypnotic daze. I stood there frozen with fear and silence just hoping that Alice would eventually pull it together.
???Alice please, just show me you???re okay, please I???ll do anything.??? Jasper pleaded in a hushed voice. Watching him brought fear and sadness into my heart and it sank even deeper. He was supposed to ease tension and make things seem okay even when they weren???t. He was so caught up with Alice that he left me feeling nervous and quite scared and the feeling stayed much longer then I was used to.
I was just standing there pleading so hard that things would turn out okay and everything would go back to normally. That Alice would snap out of it saw us what she saw and everything would be back to the way it was and Jasper would calm everyone???s nerves.
Just then I heard a heavy sigh from Jasper as he thanked and apologized in a whispered voice. I looked over confused but saw Alice gasping for air (most likely because of shock) and her eyes were much larger than golf balls. They were a dark color and her face was much paler than usual.
???Alice you???re okay???you???re not hurt???? I asked in a stutter. I went to hug her but Jasper beat me to the punch. He already had his arms wrapped securely and tightly around her shoulders protectively and showed no sign of letting go.
???I???m???.I???m fi- fine Bella.??? Alice gasped out, ???Just a lot to take in.??? She said closing her eyes and taking a deep breath. Jasper snarled and held her tighter then and she let out a small laugh.
???Jasper its fine I???m just trying to calm down and relax myself, I promise.??? She comforted him stroking his arm. Jasper snarled unconvinced and barley released the grip around her arms.
???Let me take care of that.??? He muttered and only moments later I felt a wave of calm and reassurance over me and I was sure Alice felt it more than I did.
I stood there for a moment waiting for Alice to calm down and relax. Her eyes were focused away from us and on the ground, and I could tell she was thinking over her vision thoroughly. I was about to question what she had saw when she had seemed to join us back into reality.
???I need to see Carsile, now.??? She said with stern serious eyes.
???Alice what did you see???? Jasper and I asked simultaneously. Alice narrowed her eyes at both of us and shook her head.
???I said I need to see Carsile now.??? She said sternly again with all seriousness in her eyes. I stepped back but Jasper growled protectively.
???Jasper please, I need to speak with him, you don???t understand.??? Alice pleaded sternly. Jasper looked at her with regretful eyes and released her with guilt. Alice took his face in between her two hands delicately and managed a smile.
???I???ll be okay, but he has to know.??? Alice said as she was quickly out of the room. I looked around dizzy from everything that had happened and I looked around not seeing Alice in the room and it came to my notice then that what she had saw was fairly important if Carsile had to know before Jasper did.
???Alice wait!??? I called running after out of the room. I heard Jasper snarl and I knew he was too following me. I nervously sped up and headed down the stairs. Alice wasn???t in the dinning room where the Cullen???s normally had their family meetings. I then dashed back upstairs into the large kitchen and found that it too was empty and there was no sign of Alice. I looked around in panic wondering as to where she was. I knew wherever Carsile was I would gladly find Alice but I had no absolute idea as to where Carisle was at this point.
???Alice???? I called out in alarm, ???Where are you Alice???? I screamed turning in circles in the large kitchen panic struck through me and I found myself clashing soon enough into Jasper???s body. He shook me a couple times before I could stand still and hissed slightly at me.
???What are you doing, Bella???? He asked sternly looking at me angrily.
???I just want to know what???s going on???Jasper we both know something???s wrong. We have to find out or-???
???Bella, obviously Alice needed to tell Carsile first because it seemed a concern. She will come around to tell us trust me, I know Alice best. I???m incredibly worried about her and the rest of my family as well but the only thing that we can do now is, wait for Alice to come around.??? Jasper said as he sent another wave of reassurance over me. I immediately felt better and I nodded in reply to his soothing words.
???I???m sorry Jasper I just wanted to know that everything is okay.??? I said in a quiet voice. Jasper???s eyes lightened and his stern face loosened and I could see a twinkle of guilt then in his eye.
???Me too, Bella, me too.??? Jasper muttered and then looked down at the ground.
I sighed and walked slower than usual out of the room and headed down the stairs in worry. Many things were running through my head and I kind of wished Edward was here and not hunting so he could explain everything to me and the suspense wasn???t eating away at every piece of confidence I had in my head.
I headed down the staircase once again depressed. If there was one thing that got to me it was, not knowing what was going on around me. I always felt disclosed and like anything I could possibly do wouldn???t matter or wasn???t important. Maybe that was it however, maybe this didn???t involve me and alls I had to do was let it go and act like it never happened.
Although, why would Alice stay in that long of a trance if it wasn???t something to concern over. Obviously what she saw was a problem and like always it was meaning for me to hear the last of it as if I wouldn???t make sense of it.
Sure I was new to the Cullen coven; however, did that really mean that their past problem which may occur again was none of my business? My family???s safety and health was my business and even if they did intend to keep me safe and keep me out of it. I would find my way into it and face the problem right with and or next to them.
Just then I took a demanding step off of the last step of the staircase. I found my expression grimacing as I walked to the front door. I grabbed the door knob then took a deep breath before I pulled open the door.
I made my way over to the river and leaped over gracefully. I couldn???t help but to force a smile on my face. Running and jumping this gracefully made me feel so alive and wonderful it was almost impossible not to smile.
It was almost an instinct to run in the same direction of my, mine and Edward???s home. It was definitely a home that we could call our own, with our own daughter and memories. It was so close to being a fairytale but almost too good to be a fairytale. It was definitely something that I dreamed of and something that I knew was real. I then knew I was smiling at thinking about it the whole way to the cabin.
Once I reached it I was hoping Renesmee would be awake from her nap and I could just spend time with her to take my mind off of things.
I walked inside in more of a rush then I thought I should have been. I hurried to my beloved daughter???s room and pushed open her nursery door. My eyes were wide as I didn???t hear her cry my name or laugh???or even worse???I didn???t hear the slightest sound of heartbeat or the slightest smell of her warm blood. I dashed over to her crib and looked inside to see nothing but a sticky note.
Took Nessie out for a little walk (run.) I???ll keep her safe so don???t freak out on me okay Bells? Plus she wanted to come and Blondie approved before she left.

Well this was just great, Jake took Renesmee evidentially with Rosalie???s permission and not mine and Edward was gone. Not to mention Alice was out there keeping a secret from us that was more than likely extremely important. What was I supposed to do now? Sit back and act like nothing was wrong? Kick of my shoes and fall back into a chair and relax? No, no I wasn???t going to do that I had much more self confidence then to just sit back.
What was I to do first though, go and look for Edward or track down Jake the baby-knap per? Whatever I chose to do I did greatly intend on finding out what Alice was intentionally keeping from us. That was my greatest concern and I knew things were about to get risky just as they always did.
I dashed out of my house and was once again making my way towards the Cullen???s house. I was running full speed once again but now I wasn???t smiling. When I reached the river and made my way over I was more pumped and curious than ever.
This time when I reached the Cullen???s house I wasn???t one bit convinced on leaving until I got answers. I was furious knowing that their best intentions were probably keeping me away from the situation.
Chapter 3
I took a deep breath getting ready to give a loud unnecessary yell knowing that I would catch someone or something???s attention. My fists clenched tightly together and my feet felt numb and as if they were glued to the floor. Jasper must have felt my overwhelming anger because he was downstairs in an instant eyeing me. I didn???t need to see the future or read minds to know what he was about to do.
???Jasper don???t even try it. I need to talk to Alice or Edward or someone I don???t have time to clam down everything is crazy right now and I just need answers that is all I want and if I don???t get them then I???m about to get a lot angrier and???- before I could finish blabbing on angrily I felt a wave of calm wash over me.
As much as I wanted to scream and over react to him messing with my emotions, I couldn???t because I felt at peace once again.
???Bella, I told you just relax, Alice will come around.??? Jasper said with narrowed eyes. Most likely concerned and confused over my attitude.
???Jasper,??? I breathed, ???I need to talk to Alice now.??? Just then the slightest shut of a door was heard by both of us and in curiosity we turned our heads towards the sound???s direction.
A group of the Cullen???s moved slowly into the room almost in an orderly fashion. My fists once again tightened as I looked amongst the calm faces that entered. I studied each expression carefully looking for the slightest effect of knowing, but no one???s face showed any sign of them knowing more than I did.
Rosalie, Emmett and Esme entered the room as gracefully and swiftly as always. Esme was the only one who offered both of us a warm smile. That was enough to calm me for now.
???Hello Bella, Jasper how are you two???? She asked as she took off a felt jacket and placed it neatly into a closet.
???Just fine Esme, how was hunting???? Jasper said quickly and politely.
???Fine, just fine, although you wouldn???t believe how rainy it is out there. Of all the days In Forks I think today is the first day where I actually find it depressing.??? Esme sighed as she straightened out her shirt and looked up at us again with a smile.
???So what did Alice like give you a heads up on my hunting results and it scared you, bro???? Emmett laughed playfully punching his Jasper in the arm. Rosalie snorted and rolled her eyes in annoyance.
???I was on fire man you should have seen me! I was like superman minus the cape.??? Emmett bragged with a huge proud smile. I rolled my eyes almost the same time as Rose did again.
???To bad you were sucking the lives out of animals rather than saving them from the oncoming disaster.??? Rosalie sneered crossing her arms across her chest.
???Well I got them before ???you??? didn???t I???? Emmett mumbled under his breath with a mocking smile as his back as to her. Rosalie let out a low growl and Esme sighed. Once Emmett realized that Rosalie had heard him his facial expression dropped.
???Smooth.??? A familiar voice mocked from behind me. This voice almost instinctively made me turn and look. I knew whose voice it was. It was almost impossible not to indentify at this point.
I turned to see him there standing perfectly in the door way with my favorite crooked smile. I couldn???t help but to smile in relief and happiness. Seeing him there was almost too good to be true and all the anger that was dwelling in the bottom of my soul suddenly vanished.
???Edward,??? I breathed and was hugging him close in an instant. His arms were wrapped tightly around my body and my head against his chest just felt right. ???You???ve missed all the fun.??? I muttered.
???Oh???? Edward said with a smile in his voice. ???What fun have I unfortunately missed???? He said then chuckling.
???Alice saw something and ran off without telling anyone.??? I said softly after about three minutes of quiet. Just then everything was dead silent and not a sound was heard throughout the room.
Esme turned her head to look at me with horrified eyes, Jasper looked down at the ground in shame and Rosalie and Emmett stopped arguing to look at me.
Edward pulled me away from his chest and held my shoulders looking me dead in the eye, ???Ran off to where???? He said in a stern deep voice. I suddenly felt uneasy and uncomfortable with all eyes and ears on me.
???I???I???she?????? I stuttered unsure of what to say.
???Bella, where did she go???? Edward asked with stern anxious eyes. He shook me a little and this only made me more uncomfortable and unwilling to speak.
???Bella!??? Edward growled anxiously.
???Edward, relax yourself please. Let her go, she???ll talk when she???s ready.??? Esme said who was now next to me with one arm around my waist. Edward let me go and closed his eyes exhaling.
???Bella, love, I???m sorry. Please excuse that behavior; however, you need to tell me where Alice went.???Edward said with his eyes still shut.
???I don???t know.??? I whispered. Edward???s eyes then opened in curiosity searching my face. Esme looked at me with a hopeful look of me knowing something of Alice.
???Wherever Carlsile is, that???s where she???s headed. ??? I mumbled.
