As annoying as it is to change a password and go through the process again, being informed is nice. :P

It takes what a minute or less to change your password? At least they're more secure and if you have a hard time remembering it I would simply write it down.

Changed my password to something that was in no way similar to my last one, but obviously that's not good enough.

We know that several of the hacked accounts used the same log in information on other sites. One of these sites was compromised and the hacker is using using that log in information to try to get into Marapets accounts. We also know at least one player also had her gmail account hacked as her log in details on gmail were the same. We cannot stress strongly enough the importance of having different log in information for different sites, especially email, PayPal, banking, etc. If you have the same name and password on other sites and one of those sites is hacked, any other place you use the same information to log in is going to be vulnerable. This whole password changing issue is not just about your Marapets account and is to help protect you. It may be annoying and frustrating to have to change your password yet again but it doesn't take long and the workload that staff have had and still have ahead of us is much more annoying and frustrating, believe me. If only it was as simple as changing a password! As long as you have a strong password and it is not the same password you use on any other site you shouldn't have a problem. If this whole situation was caused by players using the same log in info on other sites, that is not something that Marapets can control. That is NOT "victim blaming" it is the truth. Please remember we are doing this for your benefit, not ours. We appreciate all your support at this trying time.
