I really don't think it's insulting the artists. If you are going to do a revamp like this, especially on april fools day, that is just asking for trouble.

I looked at the old chibs, I don't know if it's a joke or not (strictly because of the release date, I'm not poking at the art) but this revamp is a pretty spot on nod to the old style. With all the lastest costume release I had forgotten that the chibs was always a round-face. This is a decent revamp. It's balanced between the new and the old. :)
