The Doctor grasped River's hand in his.
"Ready?" he asked, his face stretching into a slight smile.
"As I'll ever be." she said shakily.
The floor beneath their feet began to rumble and shake, and River screamed as the floor opened, revealing the raging inferno beneath them.
"Geronimo!" the Doctor yelled, grinning, as they plunged down into the fire, River flailing her free arm around.

The air rushed past River and the Doctor as they dropped like stones into the burning heat which was coming closer and closer towards them. River was still screaming, a continuous sound of fear. She had stopped flailing her arm around, but the look on her face was one of utter shock. She held tight on to the Doctor's hand as he laughed as they fell. River stopped screaming. The fire became a risk, and the heat started to hurt River. She closed her eyes and waited for the pain of burning, when a strange buzzing noise surrounded her, accompanied by a chilling sensation. She opened her eyes, and saw she was surrounded by a blue light, interlaced with white specks. She noticed they were no longer falling. She looked at the Doctor, and he had gone.
"Doctor?" she asked, panicked.
"I'm here!" he called, his voice muffled.
He stepped in front of the blue light surrounding her and waved, grinning like a fool. He was waving with his sonic screwdriver, which was beeping quietly. River held up her hand and pressed her palm against the light, surprising herself when he hand passed through it. She stepped out of the light and took in her surroundings.

She was stood in a silver-walled room with a red light filling the room with a blood-coloured glow. She could see the Doctor pointing his screwdriver at a console, which he proceeded to glare at. River took a hesitant step forward and cocked her head, considering the circular markings on the wall. She recognised them immediately as Gallifreyan markings, with High Gallifreyan writing underneath, which she examined closely. It seemed to say 'Medical Bay' , or something along those lines. She only knew basic High Gallifreyan. She glanced over at the Doctor, and he was stood conversing with a tall man in red robes, with red shoulder pads and strange red helmet-like thing. He had black hair and a kind face, which was stretched into a tight grimace. He was replying to the Doctor stiffly and he seemed shocked that the Doctor was here. River walked to his side and slid her hand into his.
"Who's this?" she asked him.
"Doctor River Song, this is Patrick. An Elder on the High Council of Time Lords." he explained.
River sucked in a shocked gasp.
"What? Time Lords! Really?" she exlaimed.
The Doctor bent closer to River.
"They haven't died yet, River. This is before the Time War began." he explained, his voice quiet.
"Okay..." she whispered back.
The Time Lord, Patrick, cleared his throat and put his hands behind his back, waiting expectantly.
"Let's be off then!" the Doctor exclaimed.
"Where?" River asked.
"To see the Council." Patrick replied, his voice deep and raspy.

River gulped as she took in the might of the full High Council of Time Lords. There were literally hundreds of them, lining the walls of the cavern that River and the Doctor stood in. He was practially exploding with excitement, whereas she was terrifed. What would they do to her? She almost forgot how to breathe when she remebered the Doctor's tales of Time Lord torture.
"Doctor River Song!" a loud voice rang through the cavern.
"Y-yes, uh, sir?" River replied nervously, not sure who was talking.
"You are part Time Lord, correct?" the voice asked.
"Uh, yes, sir." she replied.
She heard the Doctor's shocked intake of breath next to her. She'd explain later. If later existed for her.
"Then, you are allowed free. Be warned, the man who's hand you hold is dangerous." the voice stated.
"I love him! What's he ever done to you?" she shouted back.
The hand she was holding squeezed her's lightly, and she smiled.
"Doctor! Bear witness to your crimes!" the voice said loudly.
The Doctor stepped forward, letting River's hand fall. She watched him walk away from her with regret. Would they kill him? Or would he go free too?
"What crimes?" the Doctor replied.
River knew he would be grinning as he adressed his fellow Gallifreyans.
"You know exactly what crimes!" the voice exclaimed.
"Fellow Time Lords, why must we punish this innocent man for basis crimes, which I presume we all committed at one point in our long lives?" a Time Lord exclaimed, standing up from his seat, adressing the other Elders.
At this, most of the other Time Lords rose from their seats, and left the cavern. River grinned and walked over to the Doctor. Only about twenty Time Lords remained. River grabbed the Doctor's hand again and led him to the door they'd entered through. She pulled him thorough, ignoring the booming protests of the mysterious voice.

River flicked the dusty page over, struggling to decipher the High Gallifreyan on the worn pages. She was sat on a bed in a room which she and the Doctor were assigned to.
"Why are you making me read this?" she complained to the Doctor.
"Because you need to know everything. And so do I." he said.
"But you...oh. About me?" she asked him.
"Yes." he said simply, watching her, waiting.
"I can't tell you yet. You'll find out soon enough. But not yet." she said slowly.
The Doctor frowned and pouted like a small child denied sweets. He crossed his arms over his chest and sulked melodramatically. River raised her eyebrow and continued to read. She flicked thorugh page after page of confusing letters and symbols. Her head was starting to spin from deciphering so much High Gallifreyan. She blinked a few times to clear her slightly fuzzy vision. She pressed a finger to her temple to attempt to ease the headache. She felt the book slide from under her fingers, and she fell back onto the soft pillows. She turned onto her side and found herself looking into the face of the Doctor, who was curled up next to her on the bed. She sighed and stared into his eyes, thinking about...everything. He stroked her cheek once, with his soft fingers, then dropped his hand and closed his eyes. Within a few moments, he began to snore softly. River laughed quietly to herself, leaned forward and kissed his forehead. He mumbled something in his sleep, and his mouth lolled open. River smiled and lay back down, staring at the ceiling. Her eyes slowly closed, and she drifted into a peaceful sleep.

When River awoke, she found her hand clasped around the Doctor's, who was still asleep, his chest rising and falling softly, his knees brought up to his chest, curled up like a baby. She smiled and released his hand slowly. He stirred in his sleep and his eyes fluttered open. He gave a tired smile to River and sat up.
"Doctor, why are we here?" River asked him.
"I brought us here because we need to..." he paused and yawned. "Find the Tardis. I told you she'd been taken, and this is where the readings led to."
"Okay. So any ideas where she is, and what crimes were the Council talking about?" River asked.
"The crime they talked of was me stealing the Tardis." he explained.
River didn't say anything and lay back down, her head sinking into the soft pillows. The Doctor did the same, sliding down till he was lying flat. He turned on his side and stroked River's cheek. She held his hand there with hers and he smiled softly. River dropped her hand, and his soon followed. They just lay there, thinking. River shuffled herself closer to the Doctor until their heads were almost touching. He smiled and kissed her forehead, much like she had the night before. She grinned back at him and relaxed, utterly in her happy place.

Patrick cleared his throat loudly and River broke her lips away from the Doctor's. He kept hold of her hand though. River grinned at Patrick, receiving a bored grimace in return. The Doctor raised an eyebrow at Patrick's cold demeanour.
"Can we help you, Patrick?" he asked cockily, his hand squeezing River's tightly.
"Yes. We have found the source of your crime, and you will not be getting it back." Patrick said flatly.
"My...Tardis? You won't give her back? Why?" the Doctor asked, his voice growing faint with worry.
"Her?" Patrick asked.
"Yes, her." the Doctor said slowly, as though this Time Lord was stupid.
"Hmm, well, it...I mean, she, is being kept away from you as punishment." Patrick told him.
"Why? It's his Tardis now. He chose her, and she chose him." River said to Patrick.
"She chose him? Not hardly." he replied.
"She was the only one unlocked, so yes, she chose me." the Doctor said, nodding happily.
"Hmm..." Patrick muttered. "I will speak to the Lord President, but I doubt he will give you back your Tardis, Doctor."

River Song turned the crispy pages of the blue book she was flipping through. She was sat inside her prison cell in Stormcage on her bed. She sighed as the memories of last summer flooded back to her. She remembered the tall grass, the checked blanket, the glowing butterflies flying around her and...him. He was wearing a white shirt with a red bowtie and red braces. He had a floppy side fringe, which was hanging down over his moss green eyes. He had brown trousers and leather black boots on. His brown jacket was cast away behind him. He was laughing, playfully batting at the butterflies. He opened the small picnic basket next to him and pulled out a sandwich. He handed it to River and grinned as she bit into it and swallowed. She put the sandwich down, and leant closer towards him, her shoulder against his, her eyes sparkling. He'd leaned his head even closer towards her, their faces almost touching, he pressed his lips lightly to hers and...a loud clanging woke River up from her reminisce.
"Doctor Song! Lunch!" the guard yelled through the bars separating the two of them, bashing his gun against them. She closed the small blue book, stood up from the bed and walked over to him. She took the small dish from him, thanked him and went back to the bed. She picked up the spoon and took a sip of the soup. As the hot liquid poured down her throat, she went back to where she was happy...happy with the Doctor.

The Doctor twiddled his thumbs as he waited for Amy. She was in the shower. And she'd been in there for a long time. The Doctor sighed and stopped twiddling his thumbs. As much as he loved Amy, she could be pretty slow sometimes. He stood up and walked over to the main console in his Tardis. He pressed the small green button on the monitor and tapped several of the keys on the typewriter below. He glanced up at the monitor and twisted one of the dials on it. He frowned as it crackled and failed, leaving a black screen.
"Come on..." he muttered.
He flicked down a silver switch and typed in something else on the typewriter.
"Hah!" he shouted as the monitor sparked and fizzed back into life.
On the screen was a video of River. She was flipping through her blue diary, pausing now and then to read an entry. She came to one page that was obviously significant, and she grinned. She closed the diary, stood up and grabbed a brown bag from under her bag. She opened it, put the diary into it, picked up her time vortex manipulator and strapped it on her wrist. She walked over to a table in the corner, pulled a drawer open, and took out her gun, which she also placed in the bag. She slung the bag over her shoulder, clicked together the straps, looked up at the security camera which the Doctor had tapped into, and smiled as though she knew he was watching her. She waved at the camera and said something that looked curiously like 'Hello, sweetie'.
The Doctor sighed. He should've known that River was expecting him to watch her today. He grinned and flicked off the monitor. Just as he sat back down on one of the leather chairs, Amy walked in, drying her hair with a towel. She was wearing jeans, a white and red checked top and her trainers.
"You took your time. Did you have a party while you were in there?" the Doctor laughed.
"You seem too happy...what's happened?" Amy asked, ignoring the Doctor's silly question.
"Um...nothing." the Doctor said, immediately sobering.
"Okay..." Amy sighed.
Amy sat next to the Doctor and dropped the towel on the floor before dragging her fingers through her hair.
"You're bored, aren't you?" the Doctor asked Amy.
"Yeah...can we go somewhere? A planet maybe? Or go to see River?" Amy asked, excited.
"Oh, well, I might as well tell you." the Doctor sighed.
"Tell me what?" she asked.
"I tapped into the security cameras in Stormcage cell 106. That's River's cell. She was reading her diary and she packed a bag, looked at the camera and waved. I guess that means we have to go see her." he said quickly.
"You tapped into the security cameras. Really? That's sad, you know." Amy laughed.
"I just wanted to see her..." the Doctor said slowly.
"Well, that's sweet, but can we go? Please? I am so bored!" Amy persisted.
"Okay." the Doctor said.
He stood up, walked over to the console and tapped in co-ordinates for River's Stormcage cell. He twisted a dial, pushed down two buttons and pulled down a lever with green flashing lights on it. The heart of the Tardis flashed and began to move up and down. The floor shook, and the Doctor and Amy were thrown off their feet. Amy was laughing, and the Doctor pulled himself up, and pressed a small blue button that River had once said was the stabilizers. The floor immediately stopped shaking, and Amy recovered. She stood up just as the center of the Tardis stopped moving. The Doctor flipped up a switch and strode down the stairs leading towards the door.

River looked up as soon as the noise started. She knew exactly what it was. And she had been expecting it. She stood up and smiled as the blue Police box slowly materialized into view. She watched as the Doctor walked out of it and up to the bars on her cell. He smiled at her and she smiled right back, her eyes sparkling like diamonds.
"I knew you were watching me." River said quietly, so only he could hear.
"I know. That's why we came." the Doctor replied.
"Good. Right on schedule, as usual." she said happily.
"I suppose so. Amy!" he called.
"Yeah?" she asked.
"Can you go and get my jacket?" he asked her.
He was staring into River's eyes like they were a lifeline.
"Okay." Amy backed into the Tardis, watching them.
She went in and closed the door behind her.
"I've missed you." River said softly.
"You wouldn't believe it, but I've missed you too." the Doctor said.
River smiled and put her hand through the bars and stroked the side of his face. He lifted his hand and put it on hers. He closed his eyes and leaned closer to the bars. River leaned forward and pressed her lips softly to his. He responded with enthusiasm he didn't usually have. He dropped his hand and put it through the bars and around her waist. He pulled on her waist so she was pressed against the bars. She felt such lifting joy inside her that he was finally loving her the way he should, that she forgot Amy was coming back. The only thing she knew was the Doctor. She kissed him with a ferocity that she knew he wouldn't like. But he just responded even more fiercely.
"Hello?" Amy said.
River broke away from the Doctor and he spun around, facing Amy. He had the perfect bad-boy expression. Amy grinned at the sight of River peeking round the side of him.
"Hi, thank you, Amy." the Doctor said calmy.
He took his jacket from her and shrugged it on.
"And next time you want some alone time with River, just ask. I'm not stupid." Amy laughed.
River giggled and blushed. The Doctor just smiled at her. River looked into his eyes and saw that they were dancing. Then she faltered. Why did he kiss her like that? He would never. Not for a long time anyway. She ignored her doubts and slipped her hand into the Doctor's. He squeezed her hand lightly.
"I'm gonna go bail you for a while." he said.
"Okay." she said.
He squeezed her hand once more, beckoned to Amy, and walked down the corridor. River sat back on her bed and opened her diary.

River grabbed her bag off the bag and smiled at the guard as he unlocked her cell. He took a step away from her as she strolled out. The Doctor and Amy were stood next to the Tardis. Amy waved at her and smiled. The Doctor just stared at her. River was confused. He was staring at her like she was mad. The guard re-locked the cell and walked quickly away.
"Are you...okay?" River asked the Doctor.
"I'm...fine." he said nervously.
He turned and walked quickly into the Tardis.
Amy sighed and started to follow him. River grabbed her arm to stop her.
"What it wrong with him?" she asked.
"I told him that you kissed him, and he freaked out. He looked like I'd hit him." Amy replied.
"Oh..." River said sadly.
River remembered something. He was wearing a red bowtie when he'd kissed her. Now he was wearing a black one.
"Amy...did you leave him alone for any time?" River asked her slowly.
"Yeah, I waited outside while he bailed you." Amy said,"Why?"
"I think something is very wrong. He is wearing a different coloured bowtie." she said slowly.
"So?" Amy said.
"So, something happened to him. He'd never kissed me like that before. Well, never in his timestream. In mine...well...he has. But definately not in his." River said.
"That's...weird?" Amy said.
Amy was obviously confused, but River had the faintest idea what it meant. Not a very good idea, but it was an idea at least. River opened the door of the Tardis and tugged Amy inside. The first thing she noticed was the Doctor sat on one of the chairs. He was wearing a red bowtie again.
"Hello, sweetie." River said casually.
"Hey River." the Doctor said fondly.
He patted his hand on the seat next to him. River sat down cautiously next to him. He put his arm around her shoulders. She leant her head carefully against his shoulder and he kissed the top of her head. Amy smiled at the two of them, then walked up the stairs and left them alone. River watched her go, smiling. The Doctor shifted his position slightly, then he froze. River lifted her head up, concerned.
"What is it?" she asked him.
He was wearing a black bowtie again.
"I...I..." he stammered.
He stood up and took two steps backwards.
"Are you okay?" River asked.
"Fine." he said stiffly.
River stood up and stared at him.
"What's wrong with you? I kissed you, you leave and freak out about it! You practically tell me to lean on your shoulder, and then you freak out about that!" River said loudly.
"I'm sorry! I don't...I don't know!" the Doctor said back, looking quite shocked.
River turned away from him, a single tear leaving a track down her face. She lifted up her arm to wipe it away, then felt pressure on her shoulders. A pair of strong hands were slowly massaging her shoulders, releasing the tension. She relaxed and sighed, letting his hands release her stress. She felt a pair of soft lips kiss her cheek, and she fell into bliss.

"Just relax...I'll ease your pain..." a soft male voice whispered.
River closed her eyes and let her head fall forwards. She felt a great sense of peace. She sighed happily and let the Doctor's hands massage away her worries. He kissed her cheek, and she turned around. He looked into her eyes and smiled. She put her hands around his waist and pressed herself against him. He kissed her forehead and relaxed. She rested her head on his shoulder, and he kissed the top of her head again. She sighed and held him tighter to her. Suddenly, he froze. River sighed and kept her arms locked around his waist. He tried to take a step away from her and she released her arms. He stumbled slightly as he stepped away from her.
"Don't start again...just...forget it..." River sighed.
She felt tears burn her eyes, and she let them fall. The Doctor looked very sad and sorry. He took a hesitant step towards her and grasped her hand carefully. She let him hold her hand for a second, and then she let go.
"Something is wrong with you. Your bowtie keeps changing colour, and whenever it's red, you love me like you will in your future, but when it's black, you act like you don't know me." River told him.
"Yeah, it's pretty annoying." Amy called from the top of the stairs,"Before you ask, yes, I did see the whole thing."
River frowned. She thought Amy had gone out of the control room.
"Thanks a bunch for spying." she called back.
"No problem!" she said casually, but she did look genuinely sorry.
The Doctor was staring at River.
"What?" she asked.
Then she noticed. He had a red bowtie on again. River sighed and stepped away from him as he went to put his arm round her waist.
"What's up?" he asked her.
"How old are you, Doctor?" River asked.
"I am nine hundred and fourteen." he replied.
"Oh..." River sighed.
"That age significant?" Amy called.
"Yes. That's the age he is when he realises he loves me. I was there. It hasn't happened to him yet, though." River called back,"When you picked me up, he was only supposed to be nine hundred and twelve."
"Whoa. Where did two years go?" Amy asked.
"I don't know." River said.
She walked in a circle around the Doctor, scrutinizing him. He was wearing the same suit as when he picked her up, obviously. But the bowtie had changed again. It was black.
"Amy, ask him how old he is." River called to Amy, who was still at the top of the stairs.
"How old are you?" she called to him.
"Nine hundred and twelve." he said.
"Knew it. Temporal displacement." River said.
"Ooh, where?" the Doctor asked.
"Inside you." River said.
The Doctor said nothing. He looked shocked. But maybe he thought River was joking.
"Inside...me?" he said slowly.
"Apparently. We need to get it out of you." River told him.
"First things first, then, lets go speak to Tempora." the Doctor said.
"Who?" Amy asked as she walked down the stairs.
"Tempora. I know, it's a cheesy name, but she is the one who controls and monitors temporal displacement." the Doctor explained.
"I know her. Let's go." River said.
"Okay." he said.
The sparkle was back in his eyes again, and he was wearing a red bowtie once more.

River wiped the tears away from her eyes, her sobs bursting out of her. She was sat underneath the main section of the Tardis, her knees brought up to her chin. She was crying like a small child, but she didn't care at all. She'd lost her Doctor. He was gone. She hadn't felt sadness like this since she'd met up with him, and he hadn't known her. She felt every beat of her heart thudding through her chest, she felt every breath enter and leave her lungs, she felt it all with pain. She felt her heart break, over and over as she watched the scene in her head. They'd gone to Tempora and she'd declared the Doctor as dangerous, locked him up in her personal prison, and sent her and Amy away. Amy had cried too, but only a bit. River knew she'd have no chance at getting him back. The prison was too well guarded. River let out a loud sob, and covered her face with her hands. She wished Amy hadn't decided to go home. She could really use some comfort. Yet, here she was, alone in the Tardis. She lowered her legs and pulled out her diary. She stroked the blue cover and saw her tears drip onto it. She flipped it open to the first page and read her first entry. It was the day that the Doctor had met her. He'd taken her away in the Tardis, impressed her with his knowlege of her and then taught her how to fly the Tardis. She saw him again, lots of times. But there was one time she remebered clearly. He came to her on her birthday. He took her away, they ate a picnic under the stars. He'd kissed her and told her that he loved her. She'd kissed him. Bliss under the night-sky. He'd given her a sonic screwdriver, much like his own, and told her she'd need it one day. The next time she saw him, it was in The Library. He hadn't known her. She'd felt unimaginable pain that day. And then...she'd called him to her, they battled Weeping Angels, lost friends, formed new friendships. She'd met Amy. The Doctor had realized how special he was to her, although he pretended not to know. Next time they met, the Pandorica opened. She tried to not remember those days. And after that, she'd been summoned, along with Amy and Rory. They'd seen the Doctor die. She'd cried that day too. But then, he was back, only it was a younger version of him. Bad things had happened that month. Many, many, bad things. But then, he'd returned her to Stormcage. They'd shared one, blissful kiss. It was going to be her last. Apparently. This...future Doctor...he'd kissed her. River closed the diary with a soft thud. She slipped it back in her pocket, stood up and walked up the stairs to the control room. She pulled down a lever, and the Tardis slowly shut down. She yawned and walked up the stairs towards the bedrooms. She wandered absently-mindedly into the one that was hers, collapsed onto the bed, and fell into a restless sleep.

"I don't understand it either, Rory!" Amy shouted, exasperated.
She'd been trying to explain to Rory where the Doctor had gone, and why, but he just didn't get it.
"But...where's River?" Rory asked.
"She's in the Tardis. She says to leave her alone until tommorow. She must be really upset." Amy told him.
"When was that?" Rory asked.
"She told me that last night...oh." Amy said.
"Let's go and get her." Rory said confidently.
They ran out of the door and into the garden, where the Tardis was currently. They got to the door. It was locked. Amy knocked on the door.
"River! River!" Amy shouted as she pounded the door.
"River!" Rory shouted.
They heard footsteps from inside the Tardis and the door swung inwards, revealing a red-eyed River, who had tear tracks running down her face. She had dark circles under her eyes and her hair was messed up.
"Oh River..." Amy sighed.
"Come...come in." River sobbed.
She turned around and walked slowly up to the main part of the Tardis, where a steaming cup of coffee was sat. She picked it up and drained it. Amy and Rory shut the door behind them and walked silently up to River.
"River...we'll get him back." Amy promised.
"I...I miss him..." River cried.
She plopped down onto a chair and buried her face in her hands. Amy put her arm around River's shoulder and whispered comfort to her. Rory sat down on the other set of chairs and waited for River to calm down.
"How would we get him back? We don't have infinite knowlege of the universe." River said to Amy, her voice much steadier.
"I know. But we'll get him out. I promise." Amy said.
"Good..." River said quietly.
She stood up and walked away from Amy. She walked down the stairs and sat on the floor. She pulled out her diary and flipped through it. She went to her last entry, turned a page, and began to write.

Amy grabbed the woman by her shoulders.
"Have you seen what you've done to River? Let him go! Just get rid of the temporal thing!" Amy yelled angrily into Tempora's face.
"No. He is a threat." Tempora replied.
"Just remove the threat then! Take away the temporal displacement!" Amy shrieked.
"I cannot." Tempora said calmly, obviously not bothered by Amy.
"Why?!" Amy yelled.
"Leave!" Tempora said loudly.
She flung her hand out and Amy felt the air rushing past her. She felt the concrete wall collide with her back and she groaned. She slid down the wall to the floor. She felt a hand grasp hers, and she was pulled up off the floor. She swayed slightly as the room shook and spun. She blinked several times and stared into the worried face of River Song. Amy rubbed her eyes and River turned Amy around slowly. Amy felt pressure on her back and she groaned.
"It's okay...just relax. You've just bruised your spine." River said quietly,"Come on."
River pulled gently on Amy's hand and led her towards the Tardis. She opened the door, told Amy to go in, and shut the door behind her. River spun around and strode over to Tempora.
"Listen, I don't care what you think. Let him go now!" River hissed at Tempora.
She pulled her gun out of her belt.
"Let him go, and remove the temporal displacement. I know you can, so don't lie to me. Let him go, then let me have him back." she said angrily.
Tempora laughed and threw her head back.
"You can't force me." she said.
"Wanna bet?" River said.
She flipped a switch on her gun and pointed it straight at Tempora's head.
"It's set to kill. Let him go and fix him. Now!" she hissed.
Tempora raised her slightly, as she had with Amy, looked at River's face, reconsidered, and put her hand down.
"I will try to repair the damage." Tempora said, defeated.
River smiled and put her gun back into her belt.
"Just...let me speak to him first." River said slowly.
"Okay. He's in cell four. I'll open it for you." Tempora replied.
River nodded at her and walked towards the door with 'Cells' on it. She walked in and looked for the number four on a door. She spotted it and proceeded to open the door. She saw the Doctor sat on a bed. His head snapped up when she walked in the room. River almost laughed with happiness. And she noticed he was wearing a red bowtie. She ran over to him and threw her arms around his neck. She pressed her lips to his. He responded and grabbed her round the waist. He stood up as they kissed and she pressed against him, her lips shaping round his. He froze for a second, and she almost broke away, but he unfroze and kept on kissing her. He put a hand on her cheek and she ended the kiss. She looked at his neck, he was wearing a black bowtie.
"You think, that just because I'm a younger version of myself, that I don't love you?" he asked her, his eyes dancing.
"Well...yes." she said slowly.
"Liar." he said.
He kissed her softly, stopping her reply. She kissed him back and held his face between her hands. He put his hands back around her waist. She broke the kiss and stared into his eyes.
"We need to get you back to normal." River said.
She slipped her hand into his, and together they left the cell.

The Doctor's hands were clenched into fists as his whole body spasmed. He cried out in pain and collapsed onto the floor. His image stuttered and flicked.
"What's wrong with him?" River cried out.
"He's switching between timestreams." Tempora explained.
"Which one will he stay in?" River asked.
"Probably the youngest." Tempora replied.
River sighed with relief. Relief that didn't last long. The Doctor's head bowed and he curled up in a ball on the floor, sobbing in pain. His body spasmed once and he lay still.
"No!" River cried out.
She ran towards him and grabbed his shoulders. She turned him over and stared into his face. His mouth was lolling open slightly and his eyes were closed.
"Wake up! Please...please! Wake up!" River sobbed.
"He'll recover. Probably." Tempora said. She walked over to her chair, sat down, crossed her legs and watched.
River sobbed and put her head on his chest.
"Wake up...please..." she sobbed quietly.
She noticed he was wearing a black bowtie, so he was in the right timestream. His hand that River was closest to twitched, and he groaned.
"Ow." he said quietly.
"Doctor! You're alive!" River cried.
She lifted up her head and kissed his cheek.
"Of course I'm alive, River." he said quietly.
She sighed and kissed his mouth gently. He kissed her back softly, but he didn't seem to have the strength. River broke away from him and curled up beside him. Soon after, he started to snore quietly, his breathing slowed and deepened. River sighed and stood up. She walked over to Tempora.
"Thank you. This means a lot." River said.
"My pleasure, River Song. Take him to his Tardis. He will recover slowly." she said, smiling slightly.
River shook the Doctor's shoulders gently and he opened his eyes.
"Hmm?" he asked sleepily.
"Come on, sweetie. Into the Tardis." River said quietly.
She helped him stand up, and supported him as he stumbled towards the Tardis. She opened the door and he walked carefully in. River turned, waved to Tempora, and followed him, shutting the door behind her.

The Doctor slept for an amazing length of time. He didn't wake up all day, and he only stirred the morning after. River hadn't left his bedside once. She slept with her head on the side of the Doctor's bed and she only ate what Amy and Rory brought to her. When he woke up, River cried. Tears of utter joy flowed down her face and when he looked into her eyes, she smiled. And he smiled back. He raised his hand out of the sheet covering him and took River's hand in it. He raised it up and kissed her hand. She smiled and handed him a cup of Earl Grey tea. He smiled and sipped at it.
"Thank you." the Doctor said quietly.
"For what?" River asked.
"Saving me. You were the one who came and saved me, right?" he asked.
"Yes. I am. And Amy suffered." River sighed.
"Amy? Is she okay? And Rory?" he asked, panicked.
"Yes. Calm down." she laughed, pushing down on his shoulders as he struggled to sit up.
"What's wrong with her?" he asked.
"Bruised spine. She'll be fine in a few days." River replied.
"Oh, good." the Doctor said, leaning back in his bed.
"You just need to get well. That whole experience will have tired you out." she told him.
River lifted her hand and stroked the Doctor's cheek. She moved her hand away and looked at his neck.
"Black bowtie. Good." she said quietly.
"Good..." he said slowly.
She watched him as his eyes closed and his breathing deepened. She smiled and kissed his lips softly.
"Get well soon." she whispered.
River stood up, walked out of the room, and went down the stairs into the main part of the Tardis. She noticed Amy and Rory were sat next to eachother, drinking cups of coffee.
"River?" Amy asked when she saw River walking in.
"He's been awake. But he's back asleep." River told them.
"He'd better get well soon. We need him." Rory commented.
"He'll be back on his feet soon. But, anyway, I need to go back to Stormcage. My bail ended about three hours ago." River said.
"Aw. That sucks. It's so much fun when you're around." Amy said sadly.
"Well, you'll be seeing me soon. In about, oh, two months?" River said.
"Oh, good." Rory said.
River walked over to the console, typed in co-ordinates for her cell, pushed up a switch, pulled down a lever and pressed down the stabilizers. The center of the Tardis moved up and down, but the usual rocking motion didn't occur.
"I don't want to wake him up." River explained.
There was a slight bump as the Tardis materialized, and River picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulders.
"Amy, press the big green button and you'll go back the way you came." River told her.
"Okay. Bye River." Amy replied.
"Bye." Rory said.
"Bye. See you soon." River said, smiling.
River walked out of the door, and right into her cell.
"Home sweet home." she muttered.
She closed the Tardis door behind her, walked over to her bed, sat down, took out her diary, and began to write once more.

Box Of Desire

Amy picked up the small green box that was vibrating on the floor. She twisted it around in her hand and scrutinized it. It had strange circles and patterns on the sides. She frowned as it didn't reveal anything.
"Doctor?" Amy called over her shoulder.
"Yes?" he called back, his head appearing from underneath the stairs.
"What's this box?" she asked.
"Oh, that's nothing. It's just a box." he replied, not even looking at the mysterious box Amy was holding in her hand.
"Just a box? And it's moving? I think you're lying to me, Doctor. Just look at it?" she called.
The Doctor's head popped up and his blank expression changed to shock.
"Amy! Drop that box now!" he shouted.
Amy dropped the box and took a step away from it, looking quite scared.
"What is it?" Amy asked, her voice quivering with fear.
"I don't know." the Doctor admitted, smiling.
"You don't...Doctor!" Amy said.
"Sorry. Let me look." he called.
The Doctor came running up the stairs. He hurried over to Amy and picked up the strange box, which was still vibrating.
"Hmm...Gallifreyan origin. So it's mine. But what is it..." he muttered to himself.
"Sorry, Galli-what?" Amy asked.
"Gallifrey. My home planet." the Doctor explained as he examined the strange box.
"Oh, yeah. So, any ideas as to what it is?" Amy asked.
"Well...no. Just put it back where you found it." the Doctor said.
"Okay." Amy said.
She took the box off him and dropped it on the floor.
"Where I found it." Amy said.
"Just put it in the wardrobe." he said.
Amy nodded and wandered off up the stairs. She went through the door and left the Doctor alone. He sighed, and went back to his work underneath the main part of the Tardis.

"Doctor...how many of those bowties do you have?" Amy asked him, her arms full of different coloured bowties.
"Oh, I don't know, quite a lot." the Doctor replied, his comment followed by a loud clanging noise.
"What are you doing down there?" Amy shouted over the noise.
"Trying to fix the Chameleon Circuit!" he shouted back.
"What's that?" Amy asked.
"It's the thing that determines the exterior of the Tardis!" he replied.
"I thought it was just a police box?" she shouted.
"Nope! It's supposed to fit with the current surroundings!" he yelled.
The loud clanging ceased, and the Doctor sighed.
"Unfixable..." he muttered.
"I like the police box...disguise?" Amy said slowly.
"Good, because I do as well." the Doctor admitted.
"Then why try to fix it?" she asked.
"I don't know..." he replied.
"I'll go put the bowties back." Amy said.
She walked up the stairs and into the wardrobe. She dumped the bowties in the box where she'd found them. Just as she was turning to leave, she noticed a picture hung up on the wall. It was a picture of a man in a blue suit. He had dark brown floppy hair and warm, brown eyes. He was wearing a tie. The man was stood next to a woman with slightly curly blond hair and blue-grey eyes. The woman was wearing a belt, with a gun and leather holder attached to it. Amy didn't recognise the woman, or the man, so she took it off the wall, and walked back to the Doctor to ask him.
"Doctor?" Amy asked.
"Yes Amy?" the Doctor sighed.
"Who's this?" she asked him, showing him the picture.
"Oh, that's me." he replied.
"You? But you don't look like that. At all." Amy said, confused.
"That was my last regeneration." the Doctor said, continuing when Amy just stared blankly at him."When a Timelord gets near to death, he kinda cheats death, in a way. His face changes and he's alive again."
"So this was you...last time?" Amy asked.
"Yes." he said simply.
"And the woman is?" she asked.
"That's River Song. She's my, um, friend." the Doctor said, his cheeks going pink.
"Friend? Are you sure?" Amy laughed.
"Yes!" he said loudly.
Amy just kept on laughing.

"So, Doctor, can we meet this River Song." Amy asked as she laced up her trainers.
"I suppose we could. But, she's in Stormcage at the moment." the Doctor replied.
"Stormcage? What is that?" she asked.
"It's the most top-security prison in the universe." he explained.
"What did she do?" Amy asked as she stood up.
"She killed someone." the Doctor said slowly.
"Who?" she asked.
"She won't tell me." he said glumly.
Amy laughed and zipped up her jacket.
"Don't you have central heating in here?" she asked.
"Oh, yeah, but it's broken." he admitted, unbashed.
Amy sighed and sat on one of the chairs.
"Hey...how come you've met River, but she's in prison?" Amy said.
"She breaks out now and then." he said slowly.
"Breaks out? Of the most top-security prison in the universe?" Amy laughed.
"Not really breaks out. She more...walks out." the Doctor laughed along with Amy.
"I wanna meet this woman!" Amy chortled.
"I bet you do, Amy!" the Doctor laughed.
"Can we go meet her then?" she asked, suddenly serious.
"I don't know..." he said.
"Oh, please!" Amy begged.
"Oh, alright." he said, a small smile forming on his lips.
The Doctor walked over to the Tardis console. He flipped up a small silver switch, typed in something on the black typwriter and then pulled down a gold-coloured handle with green flashing lights on it. The heart of the Tardis began to move up and down, and Amy and the Doctor grabbed onto the handle circling the control panel, smiling, as the floor started to vibrate and shake under their feet.

River Song was lying on her bed inside her cell in Stormcage. She was staring up at the ceiling, her eyes glazed over. She was wondering where she had lost her diary. She'd been going for a walk outside of Stormcage, what with the weather being nice for once, when a small boy in the nearby town had bumped into her, and her diary had flown out of her hand, and she didn't see where it had gone. She sighed and rolled over onto her side. She looked over at the bookcase against the wall. She'd read most of the books, but there were a few she hadn't. She sat up on the bed, stood up and walked over to the books. She pulled one of the books that she hadn't read off the top shelf, sat back down on her bed and looked at the book properly. Wuthering Heights. Ah, a romance tragedy. Ironic, the fact it fit exactly with her life. River sighed, opened it and began to read. She'd never really liked long books, and this one didn't make her any more fond of them. She got to about four pages in and gave up. She placed it at the end of her bed and just sat there, twiddling her thumbs. She hated not having her diary to read. River counted her breaths as she sat there, staring at the blank wall opposite her. One, two, three, four. She kept counting, her eyelids slowly drooping. She flexed her neck from left to right, stretched up her arms, lay back down on her bed and closed her eyes, intending to sleep. Shortly afterwards, her eyes snapped open at a loud sound that she knew very, very well. A grin spread across her face, and she sat up, looking for the source of the sound. She saw the blue police box slowly materializing in the empty corner of her cell. She watched as the door opened, and a man in a brown jacket and a navy bowtie walked out, smiling. He was followed by a girl wearing a red scarf, with flaming red hair. She was smiling too, but only a bit.
"Doctor Song. It's been too long!" the Doctor exclaimed.
"I'm Doctor Song now? I was only a professor, last time I checked, sweetie." River replied, the grin on her face widening.
"Oh, shut up." he replied.
"Not a chance. Anyway, who's your friend?" she asked.
"River, this is Amy Pond. Amy, this is River Song." he answered, gesturing from one to the other.
River stood up and walked over to the girl called Amy. She shook her hand and smiled.
"Oh, they keeping getting younger, don't they?" River laughed.
The Doctor rolled his eyes and frowned at River.
"I'm only joking." she apologized.
"Right..." he muttered.
River grinned at him, then turned her attention back to Amy.
"How long have you been with him?" she asked, gesturing the the Doctor.
"Not long. He met me when I was a kid. Then he came back for me." Amy replied. "How do you know him?"
"Long story, not ready to be told." she said seriously.
"She's from my future. She knows everything that's going to happen to me." the Doctor explained.
"I did know. I lost my diary." River said sadly.
"Oh. We could go look for it?" he offered.
"Sounds good." she said, grinning at him again. "Oh, can you get me out? They put alarms around my door."
The Doctor laughed and gestured to the Tardis.
"After you, ladies." he said.

"Oh, it's changed!" River exclaimed as she walked in.
"Since the first time you came in the Tardis, yes." the Doctor replied.
"So have you." River said.
"Yeah..." he said.
"Bowtie, braces, what next?" she laughed.
Amy sat down on one of the chairs, and watched River and the Doctor catch up.
"How's Stormcage?" he asked.
"Good. How's the universe?" she countered.
"Fine and dandy." he laughed.
"Are you two going out or something?" Amy asked suddenly.
The two of them looked round at Amy. River was grinning, the Doctor's cheeks were bright red.
"Spoilers." River laughed.
The Doctor rolled his eyes and turned around to face the Tardis console. He raised his hand above the typewriter, then he faltered.
"Where did you lose it?" he asked.
"Just outside the town of Cembera. About two miles North of here." she replied.
"If you know, why didn't you...oh right. Prison." Amy commented.
"Yes. Don't forget that. Although I break out a lot, I'm really supposed to be imprisoned." River laughed.
The Doctor rolled his eyes again and typed in the co-ordinates. He was about to pull down the flashing lever, when River waggled her finger, flipped up two switches and pushed down another.
"Now you can." she said, smiling.
The Doctor muttered something to himself, and pulled down the lever.
Amy watched the scene with interest, she stood up and walked over to River.
"Why can you fly the Tardis?" she whispered in her ear.
"Spoilers." she whispered back.
Amy wondered briefly why the Tardis wasn't crashing about like it usually did, when River answered her inner question for her.
"I pressed the stabilizers. He always forgets." she whispered, with extra emphasis on 'always'.
The Doctor grimaced at River and plopped himself down on a chair with his arms crossed.
River looked up at the monitor and smiled.
"And we've landed." she said.
The Doctor frowned and strode towards the door.
"Let's find your stupid diary..." he muttered.
River laughed and followed him out, Amy close behind her.

The first thing that came into Amy's mind when they stepped out of the Tardis, was how beautiful the town was. There were tall, ancient-looking wood buildings, with small, plant-filled gardens in front of them. There were a few people wandering around, wearing quite old-fashioned clothes. River was glancing around, obviously looking for her diary. The Doctor was stood there, tapping his foot, obviously still annoyed with River.
"I don't know where it is." River said sadly. "This was where I dropped it. Or near here at least."
"Amy, you go ask around the houses, and River and I will look around the streets." the Doctor said.
"Okay..." Amy muttered glumly.
She wandered off to the nearest house and knocked on the door.
River crouched down near a puddle of mud. She grimaced slightly, then plunged her hand into the mud. The mud reached to halfway up to her elbow. She felt around in the mud until her hand came upon something solid. She pulled it out, and frowned. It was just a book-shaped rock. She dropped it back into the mud and wiped the mud off her arm, recoiling at the smell. She turned around and continued searching the muddy street.
The Doctor, meanwhile, was using his sonic screwdriver to scan for the diary. River looked at him, grinned, and kept exploring, ignoring the showing-off Doctor. She came across a large, green bush, which she proceeded to search underneath. Nothing. She sighed and stood up.
"Doctor! River! I've found it!" Amy shouted, running towards them, waving a blue diary above her head.
"Amy?" River said, bewildered.
"I've got it!" she yelled, skidding to a halt in front of River, before handing it over.
"Oh, thank you!" she laughed, throwing her arms around Amy.
"My pleasure." she said, edging out of River's arms.
The Doctor wandered over, looked at the diary and frowned.
"Um, River, it's soaked." he pointed out.
"Oh no..." River said, just noticing.
River opened the blue diary and whimpered quietly as she saw all the ink had run.
"I've memorized everything, but I'll need a new one." she said quietly.
"We'll find you one, River. I promise." the Doctor said, putting his hand on her shoulder.
River put her hand on top of the Doctor's and lowered it down.
"Where?" she asked.
"I'll ask the Tardis. She'll make you a new one, I'm sure." he said gently.
"Good..." she sighed.
The Doctor clicked his fingers, and the Tardis door opened. He led River inside, and Amy followed them, wondering why the little blue diary was so important to River.

When they were inside, Amy plopped herself down on one of the chairs and watched the Doctor typing things in on the typewriter. River was hovering anxiously by his shoulder, watching his progress with nervous comments here and there.
"River..." Amy started.
"Yes?" River asked, without looking around.
"Why is this diary so important to you? I mean, we came all the way out here, and you seem really stressed because it's ruined. It's just a diary, right?" she said slowly.
"Just a diary? Just a diary?" she said frantically, turning to face her and with emphasis on 'just' the second time she said it. "This is the diary of my past, and the Doctor's future. It is unbelievably important!"
"Okay! I was just asking!" Amy said, using her hands to make simmer-down motions.
River wrung her hands together and went back to watching the Doctor fiddle with the console.
After a few moments, the Doctor whooped and clapped his hands together.
"What?" River asked.
"She accepts it! A duplicate is on its way!" he laughed.
"She?" Amy asked.
"The Tardis." River and the Doctor answered together.
Amy just stared blankly at them and crossed her legs. There was a strange buzzing noise, and the Doctor opened a small compartment on the console. He put his hand into it, and pulled out a blue book, exactly the same as River's, only not drenched and ruined. The book was way too big to have been able to fit into that compartment, Amy thought. But then she remembered what she was sat inside. She sighed and threw her head back, staring at the Tardis ceiling. She heard River laugh, and she looked at her. She had opened the diary, and all the writing was in it already.
"That saves me some time!" she laughed.
The Doctor was smiling, even if it was just a little, and he had his hand on River's shoulder as she examined the diary. Amy noticed he wasn't looking at the diary, his attention focused at the top of the stairs. Amy followed his gaze and saw the small, green box she'd found earlier, hovering just above the first step on the stairs. Amy stood up, still staring at the box, walked over to the stairs and started to walk up them.

"Amy...I don't know what that is! It could be dangerous!" the Doctor said loudly.
River had paused her examination of the diary, and she was watching Amy ascend the stairs. Amy reached out for the box. With a whirring noise, the box flew past her and zoomed down towards the Doctor and River. It hit River in the chest and she was knocked backwards a few steps. She handed her diary to the Doctor as the box whizzed around her head, buzzing continuously. She grabbed at the box, and her fingers closed around it. As soon as she touched it, the box made a clanking noise. One, two, three times. River stared at the box curiously. The box started to transform, the sides folding out into a strange shape. It looked like a person, with curly hair just like River's. Next to the strange, metal River, was a man with a bowtie. The Doctor, then. They were holding hands and she was leaning on his shoulder. River blushed and gave the strange figurines to the Doctor. As soon as he touched it, the box transformed again. In his hand, he was holding a figure of himself, with a woman next to him. Only, the woman was beautiful. She was holding a miniscule Tardis-shaped item in her hand. Amy presumed the woman was the Tardis, or had something to do with it, somehow. She looked at the Doctor. He was smiling at the woman in his hand and mouthed something that looked like 'Idris' to himself. River had sorrow in her face, and Amy thought she could see jealousy flashing across her face. The Doctor threw the box to Amy, and she caught it by the tips of her fingers. Once again, the box transformed in her hands. It became a figurine of herself, with a baby in her arms. Stood next to her was Rory, a grin plastered on his metal face. Amy smiled and placed the figures next to her on the chair. It became a box again, almost instantly.
"What was that?" Amy was thinking it, but River was the one who said it.
"It was a box of desires." the Doctor said.
Amy and River stared at him blankly.
"It shows your desires. Hopes, dreams and so on. I should've recognised it." he explained.
"Wow." River and Amy said together.
"Yeah. They are incredibly rare." he said.
He picked it up and handed it to River.
"You can keep it. It flew to you, so it's yours now." he said to her.
River's hands closed around it and she smiled at the Doctor, her eyes shining.
"Thank you." she said.
"No problem. Now, back to prison for you!" he said.
"I'm going to miss you, River." Amy sighed.
"I'll miss you too." she admitted.
The girls walked towards each other and hugged. The Doctor just stood there, one eyebrow raised.
"You know, I'll never understand humans." he said.
River started to say something, then stopped herself and smiled.
"You don't have to." she laughed, stepping out of Amy's arms.
The Doctor wandered to the console, but River beat him there. She pushed down two switches, typed in the co-ordinates and pulled down the lever.
"You could let me fly it once in a while!" the Doctor scowled.
River laughed, glanced up at the monitor and walked to the door.
"Bye! See you next time!" she called.
"Catch! And bye!" the Doctor called back as he threw her the little blue diary and the metal box.
"Bye!" Amy said, and waved.
River waved back and walked out of the door, shutting it behind her.
"Okay, Amy, where next?" the Docto r asked.
Amy laughed.
"Anywhere!" she said.
The Doctor grinned and pulled down the lever, setting off on a new adventure.

Amy's heart was thrumming a furious tattoo against her chest as she ran through the forest, her hair tangled and her clothes filthy and torn. She ducked under a low hanging branch and ran through a puddle of sloppy mud as she ran away from the dreadful sound. It was a loud hissing, with the odd roar interrupting it now and then. She knew who was following her, crashing through the undergrowth as they chased her scent. It was a group of aliens. And they weren't friendly ones. She slowed and spun around, watching the progress of the aliens. The crashes were more distant now, but it got closer with every passing second. Amy held the stitch in her side and panted for a moment. She brushed her messy hair out of her eyes and spun around again. She began to run again and she could feel her heartbeat quickening. She gasped, every breath becoming painful. She kept running though, depsite the throbbing pain in her side. She ran faster than she had ever run in her life, panting and gasping as she did so. After a few moments of frantic running, the hissing and crashing stopped, and the aliens seemed to have given up the chase. Amy smiled triumphantly and skidded to a halt. She plopped herself down on a nearby tree stump, and pulled out the flask of water in her jacket pocket. There was about half left, so she took a quick swig and placed in back into her jacket. She placed her head in her hands, and slowly, her heartbeat returned to normal.

The Doctor had absolutely no idea where he was. He could see everything around him, but he didn't know the location. He was in a large, metal room with lots of surgical equipment and machines surrounding the walls. In the middle was a chair, rather like one you would find at the dentist's, with straps for arms, legs and around the waist. There was a light shining on the chair, and a scalpel lying next to it on a small table. It was glistening in the light, and the Doctor gulped, almost like the knife was threatening him. The Doctor stood up shakily, and a he noticed a door in the corner of the room. He walked cautiously over to it and grabbed the handle. As soon as he made contact with it, a shock ran through his body and he collapsed, moaning, onto the floor. So, he had to stay here, like a prisoner. He crawled back to where he was sat before, well away from the equipment. Just as he got there, the door that had shocked him opened, and a strange, green alien walked in. He had long ridges along his head, and scales covering the part of his face that was visible. The other part was covered by a surgical mask. The Doctor stood up again and held out his hand. He opened his mouth to greet the alien, and his mouth was covered in a wad of material. The Doctor's head spun, and he collapsed, unconcious, onto the floor.

Amy was at the top of a tree. She had recently climbed up it to get a look around, and what she saw frightened her. The forest she had been running through was impossibly large, stretching as far as she could see. She could see the trees swaying slightly as the aliens searched relentlessly for her. They were only human size, but it was a huge group of them. She remembered the Doctor's warning, as they dragged him away. He shouted at her to lock the Tardis, then to run. She obeyed, but ended up on a long pursuit, leaving her disheveled and exhausted. She sighed, and climbed slowly back down the tree trunk. She reached the bottom and dropped onto the floor. She started to jog away from the disturbance in the trees to her far left, heading to her right. She jogged for a while, before coming to a thick area of bushes, which she proceeded to crawl under, her intentions to sleep, despite the danger. She reached a human-sized gap underneath one of the bushes and she sat up in it, drinking a bit of her water. She reached into her pocket and pulled out a half-eaten chocolate bar. She ate a bite, then slipped it back in her pocket. She yawned and pulled a bit of moss from underneath the nearby bush. She laid her head on it and closed her eyes, hoping to drift off to sleep. But the forest betrayed her. The crashes of the aliens, and the sounds of the animals roaming the forest denied her any sleep. She tried plugging her ears, only finding it didn't help. After two hours of restless tossing and turning, attempting to get comfy on the rough, forest floor, she finally drifted into an uneasy sleep.

The Doctor's eyes fluttered open slightly, then closed again. He exhaled deeply and his eyes open fully. What he saw scared him beyond words. The green alien who had knocked him out was coming slowly towards him with the sharp scalpel raised. The Doctor tried to take a step backwards, and he realised he was tied to the chair, which was now upright. His bowtie had been removed, and his shirt unbuttoned, leaving his chest bare. His breathing rate increased and he started to panic. The alien, noticing the Doctor's awakening, faltered in its advance, then continued. The Doctor closed his eyes, and braced himself for the pain of the scalpel to hit him. He couldn't move, escape, fight or anything. He tensed himself, waiting. He took in a deep breath, and he felt the sharp edge of the scalpel press lightly against his skin. He felt it penetrate his skin, pain sliced across his chest. He felt the cold blade slice down his chest, and the blood trickling gently down to his stomach. He whimpered in pain and exhaled, the pain taking over, and he slipped again into unconciousness.

When Amy stirred into the waking world, she felt utterly exausted, despite the fact she'd slept through the night, awaking to the morning chorus. She sat up and stretched her arms in the little space she had. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and yawned. She blinked a few times to clear her fuzzy vision. She was still inside the gap in the bushes, but it had rained during the night, and her ripped clothes were soaking, making her shiver with cold. She crawled out of the bushes and onto the path she had walked before. She could see the strange, lizard-like footsteps where the aliens had ran past in their hunt for her. It seemed as though they had decided to rely on sight instead of smell. Amy stood up, her wet clothes sticking to her like glue. She shook her head, and water flew away from her hair. She looked left, then right, and decided it was safe enough to explore a little. She walked towards her right and crossed her arms over her chest, shivering. She pulled out the chocolate bar from her pocket, relieved it hadn't melted or been stolen by a creature from the forest. She put the rest of the bar in her mouth and chewed it slowly. She slipped the wrapper back in her pocket and swallowed the chocolate. She pulled her jacket closer around herself and increased her pace to a slight jog. She kept following the winding path until she came to a fork. She turned right again and suddenly felt her feet fly from under her, and the air rushing past her. She was entangled upside down in a net. She looked downwards and found herself staring into the triumphant faces of the aliens.

The Doctor's head was spinning and the pain radiating from his chest down to his legs and up to his neck was unbearable. His breath was coming out in fast little sobs, and every one of them burned his whole body like a raging bush fire. He opened his eyes and realised he was being examined by a group of the green aliens. He also realised he was gagged and lying on a bed, not upright in the chair. The alien who'd operated on him was cleaning out the incision it had made. Every swipe of the pad it was holding made pain slash down the Doctor's abdomen. The Doctor lifted his hand towards the alien, a plea to stop. The alien just stared at him, and continued to work. The Doctor pointed towards the gag binding his mouth closed, and made a ripping motion with his hand. Every movement caused pain to ripple across him in waves of fire. The alien, understanding, slowly removed the gag from across his mouth and placed it on the edge of the Doctor's bed.
"Why are you doing this to me?" he asked , his voice sounding weak and quiet.
The alien reached its hand up and removed the mask from its mouth.
"You are a Timelord, yes?" it asked, surprising the Doctor with the fact she was female, her voice high and peircing.
"So? And that means you don't belong on this planet, if you know about me." he replied quietly.
"We were born here! And we know of you because our past generations were alive when your people were thriving!" she said loudly.
"Okay, okay." the Doctor said slowly."Why have you cut up a Timelord, then?"
"We always dissect new lifeforms. Animals, bugs, anything. You were very interesting." she replied, a hiss ending her comment.
The Doctor thought for a while, then sat up slowly. The aliens around him hissed and crowded him, but he raised his hands in surrender, then lowered them.
"Who are you." the Doctor asked.
"We are the Konran. I am Doctor Samare. What is your name?" she asked him.
"The Doctor. Otherwise known as the oncoming storm." he said.
The Konran surrounding him hissed and and backed away from him.
"Bad reputation?" he asked nervously.
Even Doctor Samare had backed away.
"You destroyed our home planet. Many years ago." she hissed.
"Did I? How?" he asked, utterly bewildered.
"Ever heard of Konaria? It's our homeworld. Legends in our tribe tell of a Doctor. A man who came and destroyed." she said.
"I've never even heard of it. And I'm not a destroyer. I try to save planets, not destroy them." he explained.
"Lies!" Samare growled.
She raised her hand and pressed the wad of material to the wound on his chest, and pain and unconciousness overcame him once more.

Chapter 1
Dan was ecstatic. He had strolled casually into class, expecting his football teammates to crowd around him, asking for the story of his abduction at the Easter holidays. But he was shocked to find them all crowded around a new girl. They were all practically drooling at her feet. He would've been too, if he hadn't learned to mistrust hot girls. Just before he could walk over to his friend, Otto, she turned her head and winked at him. He stopped walking towards Otto, and went towards her instead.
"Hi." he'd said nervously.
"Hey." her voice was like a cat purring.
"Um, what's your name?" he'd asked.
"My name's Vicki." she purred.
She had long, black hair that hung down to her ass, which was covered by hot pants, which were black denim, and which clung to her thighs like glue. She had on a dark blue tank top, which hung low to reveal her cleveage. She had on knee-high leather boots which had a very high heel.
"I'm Dan." I said.
"Nice to meet you, Dan." she purred.
The bell rang then, and I was forced to look away from all her hotness. The day passed in a blur, and every time I saw Vicki, I swear my heart missed a beat, and I stopped breathing. When the day was over, I started to look for my girlfriend, Ashley. She had saved me from getting raped by her step-mum a few days ago, and that just made their relationship a hell of a lot stronger. But now it was awkward. He really liked the new girl, Vicki. He spotted her talking to herself in the corner of the playground. She'd taken to doing that a lot since Shauna died. She was...lonely. I walked over to her.
"Hey Ash." I said quietly.
"Oh, hey Dan." she stuttered.
"Hi. Just saying I gotta go." I said quickly, Vicki was waving me over.
"'Kay. Bye." she said.
"Bye." I said
I practically sprinted over to Vicki.
"Hey." I said breathlessly.
"Hello again, Dan." she purred.
Jeese, she was hot.
"I was, uh, wondering if you were doing anything later?" I asked, totally forgetting Ashley.
"No. Do you want to come over to my place?" she asked.
"Uh. I was wondering if you wanted to go to the park?" I asked.
"Sure." she purred, "I'll meet you there at six."
She walked away, her ass twitching as she went. My mouth hung open.

Chapter 2

"Mum! I'm home!" I shouted through the hall.
She came running up to me. She's been very protective of me since I went missing.
"Oh, sweetie. Are you okay?" she said before kissing me on the cheek.
"Of course I am, mum." I said wearily.
She could be really annoying sometimes.
"I'm going out at six." I told her.
"Oh! Baby! Where are you going?" she fretted.
"Just to a friend's." I said truthfully.
Vicki wasn't really just a friend. More a hot friend. I sighed, took a step away from my mum, and walked upstairs. I threw my jacket over the door handle on my room and walked in. I switched on my radio and started humming to E.T.
"Ready for abduction..." I muttered quietly as I grabbed my drawing pad.
Jeese, I love to draw. Everyone calls me stupid when I draw at school, so it's strictly a home thing. I doodled absently mindedly, then I noticd I was drawing Vicki. Oh, god. I'd drawn her dressed in a bikini. I very skimpy one. She was hot, even in a pencil drawing. Was there chemistry between us? Or was it just me drooling over her? Jeese, I didn't know. If only Ashley was that hot...Ashley...no. She'd broken my heart lots of times. Now I was going to break hers. She used to draw hearts with Ashley & Dan written inside them. Did she ever mean it when she said 'I love you'? The truth was, I didn't know. I could feel my pencil flexing slightly as I clenched it with frustration. I really liked Vicki. But I liked Ashley too. I had to choose. Someone I know I can love happily, or someone who I think I can love happily. I needed to spend some time with Vicki, so I can understand her more. I stood up, closed my drawing pad and and placed my pencil on top of it. I walked towards my door, opened it and grabbed my jacket. I closed the door and walked downstairs.
"Bye mum." I called.
"Bye sweetie! Be careful!" she called back.
"Will do!" I called.
I walked out of the door and strolled towards the park. Dang, I was really early. I turned round a corner and flipped open my mobile.
Hey I texted Ashley
Hey she replied
What you up to?
Nothing.
Wanna come to the park?
Sure.
Dang. How would that turn out? My girlfriend and a very hot girl in the same place. Why did I ask Ashley to come anyway? Eh, well. I turned another corner and saw the park. Oh, thank god, it was empty. I quickened my pace and practically ran to the gate. I opened it and jogged towards the swings. I sat on one and started to swing back and forth. As I did, I texted Ashley again.
Hey I texted.
What now? she texted back.
Vicki coming to park as well.
Who?
Vicki.
Who the hell is she?
New girl.
Oh, that bad girl from rehabiliatation?
What? From rehabilitation?
Yeah.
What did she do?
Stabbed her mum.
No way.
Way.
But she seems nice.
Yeah, well I keep up to date on Twitter.
Twitter?
Yeah. Problem?
No. See you in a bit.
Kay.
I flipped my phone shut and put it in my pocket. So, Vicki was a bad girl from rehabilitation who killed her mum? Damn, I had to choose a bad one didn't I? Sigh. I slowed the swing down by dragging my feet on the floor. I jumped up and walked over to the park bench. I sat down and waited. Within 10 minutes I noticed a long, black haired girl walking towards the park. My heart rate increased rapidly. It was Vicki. Oh god! She's a murderer! Just remember that!
"H-h-hi." I stuttered.
She smiled smugly. Maybe she thought I was stuttering out of nervousness because of her hotness. But it was really out of fear.
"Hey Dan." she purred.
"Uh. I wanted to ask you something." I said.
"What?" she purred
"Did you really stab your mum?" I blurted.
Crap. I didn't mean to say that. I meant to ask if she was single. Crap. She looked really hurt, and sad.
"No." she said.
"No? But my friend Ashley told me that you said you did on Twitter." I said, confused.
"No... I was... I was framed." she sobbed.
I couldn't tell if it was an act, but I patted her shoulder gently and hugged her.
"It's okay. I understand." I said gently.
"T-t-thanks." she cried.
As I comforted her, Ashley came towards us. She looked pissed. I quickly released Vicki and stumbled towards her.
"Ashley!" I shouted.
"Hello." she said stiffly.
"Hey babe. What's wrong?" I asked.
"That's wrong." she said pointing at Vicki.
"What?" I asked, confused.
"Was she crying, and sad and stuff?" she asked.
"Yeah, that's why I was hugging her." I said.
"She's not crying now. Uh. Dan. Run." she said, looking quite scared.
"Run? But why?" I asked.
"She's coming towards you." she said.
"So?" I said.
"Look." she said.
I did. Vicki had her fists clenched and she looked sad and pissed. I automatically stood in front of Ashley. She pulled her fist back and threw it forwards, aiming for me!

Chapter 3

As her fist went flying straight towards my face, I knew this was gonna hurt. Her knuckles smashed into my jaw and I yelped in pain. My blood spurted everywhere and I could hear Ashley sobbing. I could also hear another person crying. Vicki was crying? Why?
"No! I was aiming for Ashley!" Vicki sobbed.
Aiming for Ashley? Why? What had she done? My mind babbled over the pain radiating up from my jaw to my temple. Jeese, that hurt.
"Aiming for me? You bitch!" Ashley screamed.
I heard the sound of skin on skin. I presumed Ashley had slapped Vicki. I doubled over. The pain in my head was immense. I pressed my fingers lightly to my jaw. The pain increased and my hands came away bloody.
"I want him!" Vicki yelled.
"He's mine!" Ashley screamed.
"Murderer!"
"No, you are!"
"Nuh uh!"
"Uh huh!"
Jeese. How long was this fight going to go on for. I stood up and ignored the pain in my head. I could feel it, but I put it at the back of my mind. Hang on. Vicki called Ashley a murderer. How the hell did she know about Carla? She wasn't jailed or prosecuted. It was classed as an act of self defence.
"Guys!" I yelled, yelping slightly at the throbbing in my head. It hurt to shout.
"What?" they said together.
They looked really bad. They had red marks on their faces where they'd slapped each other. Ashley's hair was a mess, as was Vicki's makeup. Her mascara was smudged right across her cheek. There was blood everywhere. That was mine. And both of them were giving each other dagger-looks.
"What?" Ashley repeated.
"How did you know that Ashley killed Carla?" I asked Vicki.
"Easy. My dad's was a cop. One of the one's Carla killed." she said.
There was a shocked silence.
"Then why come to the same school as her step-daughter?" I asked.
"I thought it would be cool the meet the bitch who killed my dad's murderer." she said, "Shame she likes you."
"Why?" I asked.
"Havn't you realised? I love you, Dan. You're so funny and sensitive. I like that in a guy, despite my appearance." she said, gesturing to her clothes.
"Hey, bitch, I don't give two shit's what you think. Dan's mine." Ashley said defensively.
"I don't care what you think either." Vicki said.
"You little sh-" Ashley started.
"No!" I shouted, "No more fighting! Ashley! Maybe it's time we gave up."
Ashley look shocked. Vicki looked triumphant. Before I could begin to apologise for being so harsh, Ashley turned around and ran away from us. I could hear Vicki giggling under her breath.
"Think it's funny?" I asked her.
"Kinda." she giggled.
"Well it's not!" I yelled.
I winced and felt tears flow from my eyes. I needed to get my damn jaw checked out. I turned around and walked away from Vicki.
"Where are you going?" Vicki asked, following me.
"I need to go to the doctors." I said.
"Hey, I didn't mean to. I was aiming for Ashley." she apologised.
"Well. It doesn't matter. I still have to go." I said firmly, and I strolled in the general direction of town, clutching my jaw.
