I was coming to the end of a long long walk When a man crawled out of a cardboard box Under the E. Street Bridge Followed me on to it I went out halfway across With that homeless shadow tagging along So I dug for some change Wouldn't need it anyway He took it lookin' just a bit ashamed He said, You know, I haven't always been this way
I've had my moments, days in the sun Moments I was second to none Moments when I knew I did what I thought I couldn't do Like that plane ride coming home from the war That summer my son was born And memories like a coat so warm A cold wind can't get through Lookin' at me now you might not know it But I've had my moments
I stood there tryin' to find my nerve Wondering if a single soul on Earth Would care at all Miss me when I'm gone That old man just kept hanging around Lookin' at me, lookin' down I think he recognized That look in my eyes Standing with him there I felt ashamed I said, You know, I haven't always felt this way
I've had my moments, days in the sun Moments I was second to none Moments when I knew I did what I thought I couldn't do Like the day I walked away from the wine For a woman who became my wife And a love that, when it was right, Could always see me through Lookin' at me now you might not know it But I've had my moments
I know somewhere 'round a trashcan fire tonight That old man tells his story one more time He says
I've had my moments, days in the sun Moments I was second to none Moments when I knew I did what I thought I couldn't do Like that cool night on the E. Street Bridge When a young man almost ended it I was right there, wasn't scared a bit And I helped to pull him through Lookin' at me now you might not know it Oh, lookin' at me now you might not know it But I've had my moments ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This song makes my ashamed to be who I am. Hundreds are homeless. And what do others do? Sit And Laugh. I used to. Untill a bright summers eve. I was walking to my dads car when I was 10. He had spent a night taking me and my brother to a ball game with his girlfriend. I was walking near Jackie and saw the most horrid thing I've ever seen. A man 40 or 50 years old was holding a sign tears were rolling down his face. The sign said he was homeless and had fought for our freedom in the war. I scrambled through my pockets. Id givin my last dollar to a homeless musisan. All I could do was smile. I felt so unworthy of living like I was. My mom was engaged to a man I hated but I had a home and food, a bed to sleep on. He didnt. I walked down the street a bit more. Another man was sitting with a guitar in hand cursing because all he had was $1 in his bag. I thought of how he could get food with that. And he was still ungratefull. That night I had nightmares about that man. And the retired vetrin.
A day or two passed. My dad had to return something to Emmett a Co-Worker of his. And as we waited for his return a man asked him if he could buy him a burger. Just a $1 burger. My dad said he would because he too had been homeless for 2 years or so. So when we got food from Wendys My dad orderd a Medium coke and a Double cheese burger for the man. We pulled around to give him his food. The look of thanks in the mans eyes were amazing. It made me smile.
Even now I remember those men and others I saw. It breakes my heart that people have to live like that. Made By SamiSlam
Nycx was a vampire goddess. Nycx is commonly spelled Nyx. I created Nycx as a representation of the goddess and my love for Vamps Nycx In Greek mythology, Nycx (??????, Nox in Roman translation) was the primordial goddess of the night. A shadowy figure, Night stood at or near the beginning of creation, and was the mother of personified gods such as Sleep and Death. Her appearances in mythology are spfrom out of space, but reveal her as a figure of exceptional power, and extreme beauty
Nycx will be hard to trade from me and will be made into a vamp Quell in other repesentation of the goddess
