It's Friday 19th January Again
We would like to apologise for the past few days of Site Issues. Since we moved our new servers we had issues with our firewall. This was causing random 3 minute long timeouts for days. These timeouts were giving us constant alerts about the site being up and down, so we muted these alerts. Then on Saturday 20th January, the power to the site failed and was fixed within 15 minutes. The site 'fixed itself' without us noticing as the alerts were muted. What actually happened was the database corrupted itself as the power was pulled. We noticed this within a few hours and tried to fix it. It would fix, then break again, fix then break again. We replaced the disks to see if they were broken and the same happened. We then spent 30 hours reinstalling the operating system and software and restored the site from backup. We re-opened and it happened again. Marapets had to be restored to the cleanest backup of data before this happened.

This means that your Marapets account and everything on Marapets is exactly how it was Friday 19th January at 03:15MST. Anything and everything that was done, earned, lost, played, added to collection, used, moved, etc since this time simply never happened. As the site was closed for 3 of the past 5 days, approx 48 hours of game play therefore never happened FOR EVERYONE. Nothing was lost, no one is out of pocket - your account is simply EXACTLY how it was on Friday at 3am Marapets time.

Any player that has purchased Account Upgrades Credit with Paypal since this have been manually refunded their credits for you to spend again. Anything else did not happen and we will be carrying on as normal from here. You did not technically lose or gain anything - all play since Friday 19th January at 3AM Marapets time did not happen.

Everything on your account now is yours and you will not be receiving/losing anything that happened since this time. Marapets rolled back to Friday 19th January 03:15MST and this is final.

We spent 4 sleepness nights and days working hard to stop this from happening but it could not be repaired and the decision was made to rollback to Friday. We apologise for the inconvenience but are happy to have the site back and working as it should.

The Funky Costume was first released in September 2006 in Account Upgrades and the costume has been retired and forgotten about ever since. We have updated the costume and a new version of the Funky Account Upgrade has been released, with 7 new Funky themed items. The Poison Pit Treasure Map was also released in Account Upgrades in 2014 and has not been avaliable since. As a special limited time, you will receive 3 or 4 random pieces of this retired map. There is a 1 in 3 chance you will receive 4 pieces instead of 3 pieces. This AU will retire February 15th.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience yesterday as we performed our Site Maintenance. After several weeks of preparation, we successfully moved Marapets from our previous servers in Texas, USA to our brand new servers in Canada. These servers were getting older and as you may be aware, had many issues in 2017 and cost us a lot to replace several parts. This was a temporary fix until we could afford to purchase brand new ones.

We now have brand new, much faster servers giving us plenty of room to expand and keep us stable and running fast. The site was offline yesterday as we moved all of our data across to the new servers. We performed the maintenace as quickly as we could but with so much data, it still took nearly 24 hours to complete the move. Although we are back online now, we still have a lot to do. Over the next couple of days we will continue to perform maintenance with the site open. We may have moments of timeouts or slow loading pages at random as we finish. We will let you know as soon as we are finished.

A brand new Coral Costume is now restocking in the Costume shop. 32 out of 76 pets can now wear this new costume with more on the way! This costume is actually Rarity 1 and will restock a lot more often than other costumes.

It's that time of year again where MaraPets will be going down for Scheduled Maintenance. In a couple of days - we will try to give plenty of warning - the site will be going offline for several hours. In the mean time, the site will remain open running as much as possible while we prepare for this. Some 'automated' parts of the site will not work for the next couple of days, such as Bingo, Olympics, etc but these will all catch up once the maintenance is complete. We thank you for your patience while we are working to improve MaraPets for the future.

The Fasoro, Equilor, Ercuw and Eyru can now wear the Dalmatian Costume and the Basil, Bolimo, Chibs and Crindol can now wear the Rotten Costume.

Simeria Goals have 26 new levels for you to complete. You can now complete up to 50 levels. There are 13 new item prizes, lots of MP and £3 Account Upgrade Credits to be won.

Twelve more pets can now wear the Navy Costume. Now all 76 pets can be coloured Navy.

We have updated the costume and a new version of the Gingerbread Account Upgrade has been released, with 7 new Gingerbread themed items and either a Gingerbread coloured Kujo or Xoi Enchanted Plushie. This AU will retire January 31st.



The Equilor, Huthiq, Kujo, Poera, Pucu, Reese, Sindi and Vixen can all now wear the Gingerbread Costume.



The original Gingerbread pets have been updated to match the new style. We hope you like the changes!

Santa now has 25 new Christmas Presents to give out from his Secret Santa Event. Complete any Secret Santa Quest and a random player online will be sent a Christmas Present item from you. If he is feeling more generous, you will also receive a Christmas Present! Remember, this event ends December 25th. A new feature has been released in Biala Mountain. Scrooge used to live in the City of Marada running his own MP lending business. He was a cold-hearted, greedy person who despised Christmas. One night he was visited by a ghost from Undying Woods warning him of his fate if he continued hoarding his wealth and exploiting the poor of Marada. He now lives in Biala Mountain - where everyday is Christmas - and gives away his wealth to the Pot of Gold at random throughout the year.

You can pick up any item Scrooge donates to the Pot of Gold once every 2 hours. There are 15 new Scrooge prizes that he may also donate. Items he donates will be clearly marked at the Pot of Gold and you can visit Scrooge in Biala Mountain to see the most recent items other players have picked up from him. He donates items at random throughout the day all year round. If you are really lucky, you may even find a retired item!

The Elite Gym and Gym has just started DOUBLE STATS TRAINING until December 25th for all pets wearing Advent, Angel, Blitzen, Christmas, Christmas Tree, Elf, Gingerbread, Ice, Polar, Seasonal, Snow, Tundra or Winter Costumes.

Our Christmas Carol Singing Event has just started. It will end automatically December 31st. Everyone can take part for FREE! You can visit the profile of any player that is currently online, hit the 'Sing Carols' button and you may receive a prize. You can only visit each person once per day and you will receive MP or an item. All of these item prizes will retire at the end of this event too!

If your character is wearing an approved Christmas Costume you are guaranteed an item or MP prize at every visit. Players without the costume can still take part, but on average only a quarter of all visits will receive any kind of prize. This means that players with an approved costume will win 4 times more prizes!
