The Forums have had a huge update. When you post a message on a topic or start a new topic, it no longer has an outdated redirect. When you create a topic and select the option to receive alerts, these are now smaller and stacked with the MaraTalk alerts at the top of each page. The alerts will remove automatically when you view the topic. We have also fixed it so that if you refresh you will no longer double post on a topic.

Forums have a new Mention feature where you can tag any player by their many usernames on the forums. You can mention upto 10 players per post. Simply enter @user with user being their username. It will automatically add their username and a link to their profile on your post and send them an alert, linking them to the forum where you mentioned them! To make it even easier, there is a clickable @tag of all players who have posted a reply on the topic before you reply. If you want more control over who can or cannot mention you on the forums, you can edit your setting at your Signature page.

Our old emoticons have been updated with these new and improved Maramojis!





You can now show an image of your doll on Forums, Blogs, MaraTalk and Club Chat with the tag [DOLL] or [doll].

If you have a Default Pet you can easiy use the new [PET] or [pet] tag to show an image that links to your default pet's profile.

A new feature has been added to quickly Use Items. It shows all of the items in your Inventory and gives you the option to use upto 20 items at once. Be sure to select the correct pet at the top of the page when using items on a pet!

You can now browse all items in your Attic by rarity.

Who remembers Marahomes? Marapets will be 13 years old soon and it has been 11 years since anything new was added to 'Marahomes'. It has been 12 years since they become just 'Homes' and 11 years since 'Homes' were removed from the side bar - and replaced with 'Dress Up' which was going to be the death of Marapets! Then over 4 Years ago they were removed from the top bar links too! Today is the beginning of the end of Marahomes. RIP MARAHOMES.

Gardens are not going anywhere. While they become a new and improved feature, your homes are technically still here. Anything you are growing is still there and will remain in the new and improved gardens - coming soon!

Your homes are still technically here but are no longer any use other than to access your Garden. Any furniture/appliances have been returned to your Inventory. Any marahome related Avatars will change solution and when the new and improved Gardens are released, any MP you paid for your home to be constructed will be refunded.

The Furniture and Appliances shops have been removed. Their shopkeepers were seriously outdated and all items from both shops have been moved to the Toy Shop. Any furniture or appliances are now toys and your pet can play with them - which will count towards your Forest Fairy prize counts!

The Wallpaper shop has been removed and all 'wallpaper' items have been moved to the Flooring Shop in Gigantic Paradise. Why does the Gigantic Paradise farm sell carpet? Nobody knows! But it won't for long. This is a temporary shop and these items will soon become something useful!

Pots of Paint were the first shop and some of the first items on Marapets and have been useless ever since! The shop in Biala Mountain has been closed and all paint items you owned have now changed into a new *USEFUL* item. The paint shop has turned into a Fake Costumes Shop in Vortex Park. Can't afford a Costume? You can use a Fake Costume on your pet! It won't actually change your pet's costume but it will give you the TRANSFORMATION if you are missing it. This will help with the Rainbow Fairy. Any 'Pots of Paint' you owned have automatically turned into useful Fake Costumes.

EASTER EGG HUNT

The 2017 Easter Egg Hunt in Candyland has just started. There are 40 new gourmet Easter Eggs hidden around the site and you have to follow the clues to find them. When you find an Easter Egg, it will be added to your Easter Basket in Candyland. Only when you find all 40 eggs can you collect them - you will receive two of each Easter Egg this year! Also, if you miss the clue, it will now be shown at your Easter Basket. Every level has a prize - you will win 2 item prizes, MP or Account Upgrade Credit with each clue!

There is one IMPORTANT RULE - you cannot list answers or give out answers on the Forums, Blogs, MaraTalk or Club Boards, ONLY via Maramail or private MaraTalk. Anyone caught giving answers anywhere publicly on the site, or linking to websites with the answers listed on the Forums or Club Boards will be banned from taking part, will have their prizes taken away from them and will be fined up to 100,000MP.







WARNING : You are only allowed ONE account on Marapets. Anyone found to be receiving Easter Egg Hunt items from more than one account will have their account frozen for multiple account abuse.
Using family and friends accounts to gain Easter Egg Hunt items is against the rules.

The Easter Egg Hunt will finish May 31st and all Easter Eggs and Prizes will retire. Make sure you complete it and claim your Easter Eggs before this date.

The Easter Bunny is back in Marada! Decorate your profile and dress up your character for the celebrations, in pinks and golds and purples. The Easter Bunny will be visiting profiles and you may get rewarded for those who impress her. The Easter Bunny is not like Beelzebub, she is shy and easily scared away! Be nice and she will be running contests, games and giveaways on the Forums - 10 lucky winners will receive a retired Splatter Costume while others will win retired Easter Eggs and other great items! Naughty players will scare her away or receive only Carrots.




You do not have to have an easter/spring costume, you can dress up your doll in pinks, golds and purples, brown for a chocolate look or green colours a spring look.

If you are a younger player and you do not have access to Forums you can still take part. The Easter Bunny will visit profiles selected randomly from the Online list so make sure you are ready in case she drops by!

The Arinya and Vlad can now wear the Splatter Costume.

First of all we would like to apologise to anyone affected by the unexpected Maintenance the past 24 hours. Marapets was experiencing lag yesterday as one of our many disks failed. Normally we would just shut it down and switch to a spare disk but with the issues last month, all of our spare disks were being used for other things. To be on the side of caution, we closed the site right away and ordered a replacement with expedited delivery. This was received this morning and replaced right away. We usually do full site maintenance every 3 months (software updates, hardware checks, etc) but with the problems last month, our maintenance was way overdue. While the site was down, we also completed this maintenance. We have also ordered 14 new SAS and SATA hard drives so that we have more spare disks on the empty bays of the server and a few spare for the future. These will be installed next week and once done, this will not be an issue again in the future.

The Clubs and Pound are now back to normal. We have restored everything as best as we could. There were several features of Clubs that were not working before that are now back to normal. As the Pound is back to normal, please do not disown pets that do not belong to you - open a Support Ticket instead.

We have a new and improved Search on Auctions, Trades, Attic and Galleries. This will allow to search keywords like 'Chibs' or 'Potion' to find groups of items easier. We also have a new Wardrobe Search so you can find your clothing items much easier!

Price Checker has new features. Whenever you hit a 'Check Price' link it will now show you how many of the item you have in your Attic and Gallery with a fast link to them. It also will show how many of the item is currently on sale in the new and improved Trades.

There is a new feature to help you price your Shop Stock. ou can change the settings of what stock is shown. If you select 'All Stock' it will show as normal, but you can select 'Only 0MP Stock'. This will show all items that are not currently priced and will make pricing and 'Auto Price' much faster.

If you have many different usernames and have completed the Unnecessary Perfection Instructions, you can now change their order at the Town Hall.

There have been many, many other changes to the site that have been requested by players and are answered in the Editorial.

The Dukka Coin Exchange no longer charges you a 10% tax on certain Dukka Coins. You can now exchange them for their original value. The chances of winning a Dukka Coin from all features on the site have been increased.

We would like to give you all an update on Support Tickets. Staff are all working extremely hard to restore the site to normal after the issues we had in February. We all want to recover from this as quickly as possible and move on. We suggested opening a Support ticket for the handful of avatars/pets/items that you are really sad to be missing or can't easily replace. We were hoping that you would be understanding and with the amount you gained from the recovery, you would use to rebuild anything missing. The number of support tickets we have received has been overwhelming. We simply cannot keep answering 500+ tickets a day and they still keep coming quicker than we can answer them! We understand that many players are still missing some items but please remember everyone received back a lot of items that they had previously used or sold. There are many more items on the site at the moment due to this and we strongly urge players to buy items from user shops where ever possible.
Please only send a support ticket for items that are rare or not available for sale on the site.
Many tickets we receive are asking for items players are missing that they had used/traded/sold already. Many are sending in Paypal receipts expecting a refund of items purchased that were used/sold/traded already. Some of these longer tickets are taking several hours each to investigate and deal with, only to be sent several more asking for other stuff. Our time was supposed to help return things you cannot easily replace. As a result of this, we are putting Pet Renames on hold again for this month and our Easter Egg Hunt may need to be cancelled this year if we cannot get these tickets under control.

The Basil, Bolimo, Flab, Grint, Paffuto, Quell, Yakubi and Zola can now wear the Tiger Costume.

A new Invisible Account Upgrade has been released, with 8 new items. The Unncessary Perfection Instructions were released in Account Upgrades in February 2014. As a special limited time, you will receive 3 or 4 random pieces of this retired map. There is a 1 in 3 chance you will receive 4 pieces instead of 3 pieces. Completing the Unncessary Perfection Instructions allows you to change the order of your Pets and organise your Plushie, Plate and Photo Collections. You can also organise your Battle Deck, which is really useful for anyone who is battling a certain opponent. You can move opponent you are currently battling to the top of your Battle Arena list. This AU will retire April 30th.
