The Potato Chips Shop in Slater Park, which sells items for BP, now has 12 new items restocking.




The Dalmation Costume and Galaxy Costume have switched places. It makes much more sense for the Galaxy Costume to be from Ublish's Lair!

The Zombie Crindol, Daisy and Dakota have been updated to the new design.



The Tooth Fairy and Rainbow Fairy have new reward prizes now for up to 60,000 Battles and 3,000 Transformations.

Alerts have a new design and also allow you to browse and delete similar alerts. This should make it a lot easier for you to find important alerts and to delete the less important alerts at once.

The MP, BP, RP and AU Icons all around the site have been updated and have a newer design.


The Transmogrification Temple has been updated with new artwork and an easier design. When you complete it, it will also be easier to select the Limited Edition pet you would like.

The Astro, Azul, Gizmo, Hump, Huthiq, Lorius, Mordo, Nino, Phanty and Zoosh can now wear the Checkered Costume.

The Zombie Arinya, Azul, Basil, Bolimo, Crikey, Echlin and Ercuw have been updated to the newer design of the Zombie Costume.

Our Maintenance is now complete and you should finally notice the difference. Marapets is 15 Years Old and is pretty huge in terms of content and data. Any small server hardware or software upgrade here is a massive undertaking but this was the biggest change in many, many years. We upgraded both the hardware, software and network MaraPets uses. It has taken months of hard work to make sure as much was done without closing the site and without much downtime or errors.

For those who are interested, MaraPets was still running on a version of PHP5 (released in 2012, supported until 2014) and although we have had many upgrades of hardware and software since then, we had to finally update everything and bring it to 2019! This meant much of the site had to be re-coded, servers needed newer operating systems and our newer database software required much of the site to be changed to be compatible. To update 15 years of MaraPets in less than 6 weeks was not easy!

We would like to apologise for the last 48 hours of random Server Errors and issues some players have had. In hindsight we shoud have closed for longer - we estimated how much time we could complete the move in but didn't take into account how tired/bad we would feel doing it all so fast on very little sleep. The move is complete now and we should be running better than ever! It will still take another week or so to make sure everything is 100% working - MaraSites for example are still disabled - but it shouldn't be anything major now and we should be running better than we have ever.

As always, we'd like to thank everyone for their patience while we made the move, those who helped test and the Account Upgrade buyers who have helped keep Marapets constantly improving. As promised, the limited edition/restricted pet potion flash sale in the Account Upgrades Shop is back and will most likely sell out today or tomorrow. As we had originally said that they would retire 20th August, a very, very limited number is back on sale for those who missed out. Once these are gone, they will retire and will not be back on sale here.



All Light pets will receive FREE TRAINING at the Gym and Elite Gym and FREE LESSONS at the School until September 15th.

The Addow, Justin, Kronk, Leido, Newth and Nino can now wear the Light Costume that is still on sale at Account Upgrades.

MaraPets will be down for Scheduled Maintenance later this week. We have been working for months on preparing for this move so that it is as smooth as possible. We are moving to new, faster servers with new versions of operating system, PHP and database software. Our current database server has an internal operating system glitch which at times, makes us crash. There isn't anything we can do about it apart from reboot once it happens, but there isn't always someone online to do it. It happened today and as I was asleep and missed it, we had over 2 hours of downtime. This is one of the many reasons for the move but those who have been temporarily moved to the new system this week to help test have all noticed how much faster the site is! We will keep you updated and give plenty of notice before we close and we estimate that the maintenance would take 6 to 12 hours.

The Mutant Ideus, Justin, Mordo, Osafo, Paffuto, Viotto, Vixen, Walee, Yakubi, Yuni and Zetlian have been updated to the newer design. All 77 pets now have the updated Mutant Costume design - we hope you like the changes!

These new limited edition items are now on sale at the Account Upgrades Shop for our 15th Birthday. They will retire September 10th.

Visit any player online and click the button at the top of their profile to invite them to the party. Each player is different - some won't party, some will and others will have the best time ever! The response of the character will depend on what prize you receive. You can only invite a player who is currently online and can only invite the same player once every day. Each player can only be invited once every 30 seconds. You will receive MP or one of 25 new Pinatas as a prize.

There is a new way to earn Recycle Points - from recycling these new Used Newspaper and Used Magazine items that you will receive every time you read a Newspaper or Magazine item to one of your pets.


The Astro, Equilor, Kronk, Poera, Sindi and Zoink can now wear the Recycled Costume.

Our new Time Machine has opened in Vortex Park. Marada was accidentally discovered in August 2004 when a British student used a telephone box that was in fact a Time Machine - or H.O.M.E.R (History of Marada Extra-dimensional Replicator). Since then, over 6 million people have visited at different times and have missed out on many items from the past. Every Saturday, 30 items are randomly selected from the Time Machine List to become the prize list for the following week.

Every time you use the Time Machine, you will go back in time and bring back 4 items with you. A time themed Booster, Wand and Mystery Bag and a random item from the prize list. The Time Machine Tokens are available at the Account Upgrades page and can be won for FREE from the Mystery Item game. There will also be more ways to win these in the future!

As the Time Machine can only used once every 48 hours you cannot send Tokens to other players to use the Time Machine on your behalf and to send you the item they win. That is putting your account at an unfair advantage over other players and is not permitted.

The Mystery Bag items released with the new Time Machine can be opened at any time from your Inventory. Inside each bag you will find a random retired Newspaper or Magazine matching the month of the the Mystery Bag. If you open a bag on the correct month (such as a June Mystery Bag in June) you will receive double the items!



Wands are a new type of item, similar to Boosters. You can use any wand item once every 4 hours per pet. A wand will reward your pet with a random School stat - or if you're really lucky, a random University stat! If you use a wand on the correct month (such as a June Wand in June) you will receive double stats!



There are also 12 special new Boosters only available from the Time Machine - one for each month. If you use a booster on the correct month (such as a June Booster in June) you will receive double stats!

The Mutant Hump, Murfin, Phanty, Willa, Xoi, Zoink and Zoosh have been updated to the newer design.

A new Light Account Upgrade Set has been released, with 7 new light themed items, a retired Light Costume and either a Light Enchanted Plushie or Light Potion. This set is on sale until September 22nd. You can choose if you would like the main prize to be an Enchanted Ercuw Plushie or Potion. There is 1 in 3 chance you will receive a limited edition Ercuw instead of Azul, Bolimo, Jessup or Xoi.




The Light Azul, Bolimo, Ercuw, Jessup, Viotto, Vixen, Xoi and Yuni have been updated to the new style. More pets will be able to wear the Light Costume soon!

The Gobble, Jessup, Lati, Murfin, Osafo, Poera, Raulf, Renat, Tantua, Troit, Vlad and Zetlian can now wear the Sewers Costume. This means that all 77 pets can now wear this costume!

The Mutant Kidlet, Leido, Pucu, Tantua and Tasi have been updated to the newer design.




Over 100 Meat items have been updated to new artwork. Many of these items were the original artwork from when we first opened nearly 15 Years ago. There are also over 40 new items restocking in the Meat Shop.

The Straya can now wear the Burnt, Checkered, Digital, Insideout, Leopard, Slime, Starry and Strobe Costumes. This means that all 77 pets can now wear the Digital, Insideout, Slime and Strobe Costumes!

All 120,660 Usernames and 488,785 Pet Names have been released now. We will be releasing even more over the weekend so be sure to keep checking if the name you wanted was not made avaliable.

The Sultan of Kamilah Desert has new item, MP, stats and Account Upgrade Credit rewards for paying up to 1,500 Days of taxes. After 1,350 days of prizes, there is a new prize after every 15 days until 1,440 Days, when a new prize is rewarded every 10 days!



All 8 pets that can wear the Staff Costume have been updated to match the new style. We hope you like the changes!

Today we have started a MASSIVE removal of inactive accounts to free up 120,660 usernames and 488,785 pet names! Over the almost 15 Years of Marapets, 7,980,197 pets and 6,274,674 accounts have been created and obviously many of these accounts are dead. This will MOVE (not delete) these accounts that didn't play for long and have not visited in the past 8 years. They will not be removed for good, we will keep a copy incase they ever return but they will have to change username or pet names!

Over the next few days, new usernames and pet names will slowly become avaliable at about 500 an hour. If there is a pet name or username you are wanting, make sure you keep checking the Town Hall regularly. If it says a name is avaliable, do not trust it, press the button and try anyway and it will double check. The cache will be updated once the purge is complete.
