NEW EVENT
We're in the final stages of moving to our new Dolls and we need your help verifying that we have converted all of the parts correctly. From now until Sunday, September 8th, every time you visit the Doll Event page it will load a new doll part for you to verify. If it looks correct, submit it as 'Everything looks OK' but if there is something wrong, please tick all of the boxes that state what is wrong with it.

Every time you submit, you will have one entry to the Doll Event Raffle. The raffle will then pick valid entries at random, with one winner of an Enchanted Toddler Decadal Plushie, ten winners of

BREAKING NEWS
Traps left at the City of Marada Power Station caught workers by surprise and unfortunately injured them all. This has caused a huge Blackout pushing all of Marada into darkness! Workers predict it will take 7-8 days to fix the issue.
What happens when there is a Blackout? Well...

All Candle, Devil, Fire, Fire Fairy, Lightning, Light Fairy, Neon, Sparkle and Strobe pets will receive FREE training at the Gym and Elite Gym and FREE lessons at the School and University.

Visit the Telescope during a blackout and you'll win one of these amazingly detailed Photos of each world in Marada.

Without any power, the Operations Portal has reset to factory settings and will change the colour of any pet that uses it to black or white. No species changes will happen at the Operations Portal during a blackout.

Whenever there is a blackout event, the retired Galactic Treasure Chest is back on sale at the Account Upgrades Shop.
It will automatically retire again when power is restored to Marada.

The blackout has Baspinar's Castle and Eleka's Castle in darkness 24 hours a day. Therefore the Knutt Knight will stay sleeping and his quests cannot be completed but the Troll mission will stay open 24 hours a day. The Bank has decided to remain open throughout the blackout.

Ublish no longer needs your help finding stars for his mission - it's so dark he can see them himself and has taken a well earned vacation!

The Batteries, Candle, Glowing Egg, Health Tonic and Star Shops all have a 2 for 1 special on all items.

The grave keeper is also always asleep when you visit Grave Robbing.

Our Maintenance is now complete and you should finally notice the difference. Marapets is 15 Years Old and is pretty huge in terms of content and data. Any small server hardware or software upgrade here is a massive undertaking but this was the biggest change in many, many years. We upgraded both the hardware, software and network MaraPets uses. It has taken months of hard work to make sure as much was done without closing the site and without much downtime or errors.

For those who are interested, MaraPets was still running on a version of PHP5 (released in 2012, supported until 2014) and although we have had many upgrades of hardware and software since then, we had to finally update everything and bring it to 2019! This meant much of the site had to be re-coded, servers needed newer operating systems and our newer database software required much of the site to be changed to be compatible. To update 15 years of MaraPets in less than 6 weeks was not easy!

We would like to apologise for the last 48 hours of random Server Errors and issues some players have had. In hindsight we shoud have closed for longer - we estimated how much time we could complete the move in but didn't take into account how tired/bad we would feel doing it all so fast on very little sleep. The move is complete now and we should be running better than ever! It will still take another week or so to make sure everything is 100% working - MaraSites for example are still disabled - but it shouldn't be anything major now and we should be running better than we have ever.

As always, we'd like to thank everyone for their patience while we made the move, those who helped test and the Account Upgrade buyers who have helped keep Marapets constantly improving. A new celebrity, Michael Jackson, has been honoured at the Lowlyhood Walk of Fame. There are new 'MJ' celebrity clothes that are now avaliable for FREE at the Clothing Rack. Five new Michael Jackson Hair Styles have been added to the Salon. There are also new gloves, belts, hats and shoes on sale in various parts of the site.

NEW EVENT
The Piracy Event has finally started! We are really sorry for the delay, but its going ahead as planned and will last for the next 6 weeks, ending in time for our Halloween Events! You can earn Dukka Points from restocking and battling only. There will be more ways to earn points later in the event!! You can spend your Dukka Points over the next few weeks at the Pirate Bay in Dukka Town. New and rare items will be on sale here and this will be the only place you can get them from! Once the event is over, they will all retire and these items are limited, so buy them as quick as you can! There will be new items added throughout the whole event - even a Limited Edition Pet you will only be able to get the potions for from this event!!! The Undying Festival has been cancelled this year but we will still be celebrating our 5th Birthday, which was last month, a little later than intended.

NEW QUEST
The Robot Repair has just opened in Ziranek. Old Robot Minipets here are being sold for parts because they are broken. All they need is a new Battery to repair them! If you manage to repair one of them, you will be rewarded with MP and you may even be lucky enough to get to keep the Robot that you repaired!

Character Week Just Started!!

We have just started Character Week. As promised, we'll have a whole week dedicated to Characters. This will include the release of shoes, jewellery, new hair styles, new clothes and lots more related to characters!

We have changed the Forums and News Comments. It now shows your character when you post. We hope you like the changes.
