MaraPets will be down for Scheduled Maintenance later this week. We have been working for months on preparing for this move so that it is as smooth as possible. We are moving to new, faster servers with new versions of operating system, PHP and database software. Our current database server has an internal operating system glitch which at times, makes us crash. There isn't anything we can do about it apart from reboot once it happens, but there isn't always someone online to do it. It happened today and as I was asleep and missed it, we had over 2 hours of downtime. This is one of the many reasons for the move but those who have been temporarily moved to the new system this week to help test have all noticed how much faster the site is! We will keep you updated and give plenty of notice before we close and we estimate that the maintenance would take 6 to 12 hours.

The Mutant Ideus, Justin, Mordo, Osafo, Paffuto, Viotto, Vixen, Walee, Yakubi, Yuni and Zetlian have been updated to the newer design. All 77 pets now have the updated Mutant Costume design - we hope you like the changes!

A new feature has been added to Nimbus. Pet Lending is where you can safely lend one of your pets to another player without fear of it not returning. If the player accepts a pet you lend them, they will have to pay both of the MP transfer fees, which are the sending fees and returning fees.

Any pet that you lend to a player will automatically return to you by the time that you select. You cannot receive it back early unless the player lending your pet sends it back early. While the player is lending your pet, it will be safe from any changes in a special Nimbus cloud. You will be able to earn certain Avatars, Goals, Photos, Plates etc while you are borrowing a pet.

MARAPETS MAINTENANCE

Here is an image of the Dentist soon to be opening in Lowlyhood. Just like going to the Dentist, this week is going to be painful and will leave a lot of you grinding your teeth. We are making the major move to a brand new system and its going to take a lot of work, a lot of moving stuff around, editing and tweaking. Its taken 8 months to save up and 3 months to prepare for and I'll be working almost all day and night this week to try and minimise the disruption. I don't want to close the site while we do it, because most of the site will be playable. But, certain sections will be up and down and there will be annoying server errors. I advise against doing any missions unless you are really prepared for them. When I am finished, we'll have a super fast, stable site that won't go down as often - it'll only go down when I want it to! And with the new system, I'll be able to actually go through all the errors and glitches and fix them, because I'll know that they will stay fixed. We apologise for the inconvenience but it has to be done and it will be so worth it! I'll keep you all updated in the news. But please remember that pets, items and MP/currency does not just disappear. If it does, it'll probably show up eventually and if it doesn't after you use some sections of the site, open a ticket. Homes can now break again, making tools useful again. Some of you may now not have access to your homes or attics because your house broke down several months ago, when it was broken but random events were still working. You will need to fix it with the proper tool.

There are a few Random Events now. More will be added soon, but right now your house can break down, you can gain MP, RP or BP, you can lose MP, RP or BP, you can find items and lose items in your inventory, your pets can gain stats and school stats, you can find Dukka Coins, Crystals, Diamonds, fruit (if you are lucky, maybe a Glowing Strawberry Egg), you can be promoted in your Job, the Avatar Stamp, you can get electricity bills and Purple DNA.

We have just released the Toolbox. Several people found in the past that when their house broke down, their tools were stuck in their Attic. Now you can store your tools in your Toolbox instead so you can get to them when you need them. ›Read the full news

We have completely changed the way Restocks work. Shops which restock items needed more often than other items restock more often. This should make the School Supplies and Chocolate restock more often, fixing the School and Candy Tree quests.

We have changed Jobs. Wages are now three times higher, meaning that you can easily get 100-250MP per pet, per day just for having a good job!
