The High Scores List now automatically removes inactive players. If a player has not logged in for 180 days they are removed. As soon as that player comes back and starts to play again they will be added back to the list.

Players who have not logged in for the past 180 days are automatically removed from the Gallery Search. This means that they will no longer win the Greedy Fairy prize.

We have changed what items Missions ask for. Missions that ask for items from your collections will remain the same but missions that take items from you, such as Blitzen, can now ask for *any* item that is not retired and is available on the site. Several times a day a script will run to check how many of each item is on the Shop Search, Galleries, Trades and active player accounts and when the quantity of this item gets low it is automatically removed from missions. This means that missions can now ask for goals items! Photo and Plates are NOT included and can still be asked for as normal. Remember to always check what items the mission could ask you before you start a level and let us know if you think there is a mistake before you start.

NEW FEATURE
The Genie has been added to the Kamilah Desert world. You can visit once a day and she will grant your pet a FREE wish. One day, while Kamilah Traveller was searching for the lost Kamilah Pyramid, he stumbled accross a shiny golden lamp. He was thousands of miles from civilisation and had run out of supplies. He was so thirsty he shook the lamp up and down hoping for some water and to his suprise the magical Genie appeared to grant him three wishes. His first wish was for food and water, his second wish was for a restricted Hump pet to help him in his travels and his third wish was to find the Kamilah Pyramid. The Genie granted all 3 wishes and he was so happy that he left Genie's Lamp in the town of the Kamilah Desert for all Maradans to use.



There are now 67 new Jars of Essence - one for each species of pet. If you are extremely lucky you may receive one from the Genie. These will turn your pet into a random colour of the species shown on the bottle. For example, using an Essence of Quell on your Addow pet will change your pet into a random colour of Quell.

There are 3 new Giftbox items are on sale at the Account Upgrades page. You can use the Ice Caves Giftbox to use the Ice Caves every 8 hours instead of 16, the Archeology Giftbox to use Archeology every 12 hours instead of 24 and the Mission Giftbox means you can complete a mission every 6 hours instead of 12! When you use a Giftbox, you can use these features twice as often as everyone else forever. However, the missions giftbox will only allow you to do the SAME mission once every 12 hours, but 2 different missions once every 6 hours.


There are now 3 new Booster items on sale at the Account Upgrades page for Elite Gym stats! Every time you use a booster, your pet will gain between 3 and 6 stats! Make sure your pet is ready for the Olympics!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARAPETS
Marapets is 4 Years Old!! Ok, so we are a few days late for our birthday but there was so much more interesting news to release instead, and we were waiting for confirmation before giving you this awesome news! You all probably know that the sites had a massive hardware problem causing us to crash everyday. We could of paid to replace the broken parts of the server, but that would of required us to close the site, backup everything, fix the server, reinstall and configure everything and move the site back to the fixed server. But we decided not to do that, because even if everything went well, we'd have a minimum of 7 days downtime and thats way too long - especially when we don't know for sure if that would fix the server, there could be more broken on it. So instead, we decided to deal with these annoying errors and downtime for a couple of months to save up for a bigger and better new server and system for the site, which we need for the future growth of the site anyway. This was finally bought and is shipping in 5 to 10 working days!! This means that by the end of next week or at the start of the week after that, we will have approx 3 hours downtime while we move to our new system. This will give us a stable site that will be much faster, can hold more players on and we won't crash all the time with stupid server errors!! It also means that all of the broken & disabled features around the site can start return and with less errors and problems for us, the more time we can spend improving the site!

We aim to be running on our new system and have nearly every glitch on the site fixed within the next 2-3 weeks. You are probably thinking you have heard this so many times before, but this time we have a invested so much more time, money and have learnt so much from past mistakes on growing the site's servers. In the past we were growing too fast and couldn't financially afford to keep up with the growth. This time we waited 8 months to pay for exactly what we needed instead of buying cheaper alternatives that only fix the problem for the short term!

In the meantime, you can get a 4 Years Balloon from completing school, university, gym and elite gym courses. You can get a 4 Years Stamp randomly at the Pot of Gold and the 4 Years Cake from completing quests! NEW FEATURE
We have just released a new Goals Game. At every level you have a new goal to complete related to Minipet Island. Each level gets harder to complete but you will receive a prize for completing each level. Unlike quest and mission games, you have unlimited amount of time to complete each goal level and you can only complete them once. New levels will always be added to the Goals in each world. Prizes include rare items only avaliable from goals, MP, BP, RP, Dukka Coins, Account Upgrade Credit and stats for your pets. The Minipet Island Goals is the eighth world to have goals and currently has 15 levels for you to complete. New levels will be added in the news to these goals all of the time, each with a brand new prize.

Marapets reached its 1st birthday on the 15th August. As we are now in the second year, we are making many important changes to the site. Over the next few weeks, Marapets will have a lot of its old features upgraded and the whole site will be improved. Be prepared for a lot of changes.
