that bug is super cool. very creative way of finding parallels between the zola's weird anatomy and how oddly-shaped mantises are in general among bugs! and it's a lovely color.
translating the bizarre prehensile ears-as-limbs into traditional limbs and keeping them attached to the head ends up resulting in something a lot more unique and interesting as a creature design than if it were more "accurate". it's also not unheard of among arthropods; we're a class over with arachnids instead of insects, but a scorpion's pincers are highly evolved mouthparts and attached directly to their face. ever seen the pokemon drapion and wondered why it's shaped like that? that's why! there's real-world precedent for things to be weird in this specific way!
