Chapter 02: What Goes Up...
Across Marada, unstable energy surged through power lines, teleporters, and machinery. Machines are malfunctioning.
One such machine - Candyland's Gumball Machine - shuddered violently before launching thousands of gumballs into the air like a cannon.
They didn't fall. And now, dozens of gumballs drift silently across the skies of Enpiah, caught in low orbit. Some say they're evolving into tiny planets. Others think the machine simply misfired.
Crowds are building in Candyland, hoping to see it happen again. But one traveller - just recently awoken from a very long slumber - watched it happen and scoffed.
“Modern machines. So flashy. So... inefficient.”
She spent the day touring Marada, unimpressed by what it had become.
