Super greatful for this! I'm stuck on some goals because I can't get certain maps, so this is awesome! :like:

@maginagi New and returning players! I, for one, have yet to get any of the maps. Not to mention they're also toys, so, hardcore toy collectors will want at least a spare copy or two of each piece for their pets (and some people have A LOT of pets, meaning fixing broken maps might cost more than buying spares).

oh the ones you've had in your attic for years and never intended to sell and are only now concerned over them because they won't be worth 20 M+ for a single piece? :grin:

i like this update, even if it mean i just have to save up au slowly for a map. no more having the whole map except one piece that's 30 M and virtually impossible to find. :D

I think people forget the site needs money to keep running like every site needs. :'3

I myself cant always buy AU, but I'm grateful for these, as I feel it will be easier to obtain certain maps i nthe long run.

Plus, whoever buys those maps will help to keep maps circulating besides keeping the site alive. ^_^

@correctoraline read Ian's response to a comment on 1st page. There will no longer be an option to buy the 3 random pieces.

@qwilt who does that with map pieces? All spares I own, I'm trying to trade for pieces of maps I haven't completed. Not for years, but for months, they are all in my trades. Map pieces don't increase in value after a period of time, the best time to trade or sell them was whenever that map was in the AU shop. Once a map disappears from the shop, people are not completing them and are not trading for our buying missing pieces.

This map update will make it so much harder to collect pieces a couple at a time for those who can’t afford 25au in one go.

Could I propose a system for the site to ‘buy back’ the random 3 pieces that have been bought by people for maybe AU store credit? I don’t think it should be AU to be spent in any other manner on the site, I do understand that would tank the value of AU.

I genuinely did spend MUCH more AU over the last 6 months in order to complete my maps collection (other than waiting on carpenter fixes for Lab & Bootleg map pieces) than I would have had to with this new system. I love the new system! Please do not get me wrong!

I just think a buy back system for unused pieces would be a fair option for those of us who do have excess pieces after struggling with the RNG all these times.

awh man. regret trying to start that set now...should have saved my AU :/ and now the unnecessary perfection isn't even there?? couldn't this have waited until it was set to retire? i planned for the time it said it was going to retire and now i have wasted AU and spare pieces i can't use...

re: straya, more Guy In Basic Standing/Sitting Pose for most of them, unfortunately
if the costume has a unique pose it's really boring if the artist just draws it standing in the same basic 3/4s pose anyway, especially for rare and special pets

I like the update but I think a lot of people would've preferred a little heads up that the system would be switching. Also not sure what to do with spare pieces now since it makes more sense to buy full sets from now on :sleeping:
