Constructive criticism is one thing but some of yall spit straight venom over the revamps. As an artist, that kind of thing is one of the reasons why I dont share my work anymore. Folks can be brutal without even trying to be nice or helpful about it.

Oof.. Kinda shocked that the original snookle/vixen/zola was replaced.. They were so cool.. I really miss the other art style.. The new style is kind of a deal breaker for me. Not trying to be rude, just being honest x.x

There are some interesting concepts with these though some work better than others. Maybe it's because there is so much solid lines, but some of the disembodied effects seem to be a bit too cut. Like the Gonk's leg. That effect works better with the wings of the Ike, I think. The Vixen doesn't really look like a deer. I'm wondering if the antlers are on another layer?

I like the third eye on the Zola. And I think the Jessup looks neat.

Overall though, I think this is one costume I wouldn't minded keeping the old pets as they were even if new additions were different. It doesn't seem like an outdated costume.


Still, I do hope this costume and other costumes will continue to receive new updates/pets that can wear it. Otherwise I feel like it's inevitable that every costume be forgotten about with no updates for 7+ years and then ends up needing to be revamped.

I to was so shocker yesterday to see my beautiful phantom knutt changed to that. The old art style was beautiful. I wish you gave me the option to leave it unconverted. I guess now I am going to zap it again

@Drusy They are not even being harsh. Saying that they are disappointed that they have to change their pets is hardly offensive. Some of those people are even giving feedback. You are telling people to be quiet if they have nothing positive to say, even if it's constructive like they are giving. No one is being mean or hateful here, maybe in that forum thread they are.
This artist has been revamping for quite awhile even with all the backlash. They have shown they can handle the negatives while still designing for this site.

The only time I've seen feedback not being pointless was for the Angel costume revamp and all they did was darken the yellow and adjust some halos. There are always people who do give constructive feedback on these revamps, yet they remain as they are, and continue to revamp the same.
You are going to ruffle feathers when you change already perfect existing designs.
It looks less like a phantom and more of a demon.

i can tell the artist put a ton of effort in, which is great! there’s a lot of detail.

but these designs are not my cup of tea. i think maybe it’s the eyes? they look kinda unhinged and i’m not sure why. i also am just more of a fan of the shading on the originals, with the solid colors.

i switched my 3 phantom pets to thunder. but i’m sure the AU will sell well :like:

Aww, man. I'm disappointed in this revamp. The poses look a lot less dynamic, and it seems a lot more sterilized-- less unique, and closer to the standard big eyed front facing static pose of the generic colors. My phantom Snookle went from cool and otherworldly to kind of a haunted doll aesthetic. Not a fan at all, especially when there are still quite a few extremely old colors with outdated art that could've been revamped first. Ah well. Someone above me picked a Thunder costume for their pets and that might be the way to go

Hi can you do princess next? It is pretty old whereas the phantom costume was not that old. I like the lorius but is it possible to convert the snookle, vixen, and zola? Some other costume sets keep the old art and just add the new art in, which would be a good choice here

As an artist I always appreciate the effort, but I have to say I don't vibe with this new art style at all. The pets don't feel like they have personality or uniqueness to them anymore. I think the lack of dynamic posing and limited color palette is hurting them. Maybe doing new costume sets that better suit the new art style instead of updating older ones would be a better option? Always love seeing new content regardless though, glad to see you back Ian!

wait, what? why were these ones revamped? i thought they were only doing the outdated ones, like the fire fairy costume? i'm really going to have to rethink my wishlist if they plan on just ripping out a ton of costumes that don't actually need an update. the past revamps made sense, but costumes like cartoon and phantom are just "different" in the same way that bootlegs and balloons are different.

Liking the design here, they really look more phantom than their old design.
