This is the first time I've seriously attempted a Quest Contest, and I was firmly in the gold bracket for a while there, until I realised I'd already spent like 4mil on the quests, and would definitely exceed the main prize (starry Costume) value of 14.5mil by the end of the contest, so I might as well just go buy the Starry Costume instead of spending 15mil+ with a chance of not even getting the prize.
Same with the Item contest, this week I just went and bought the main prize cos it's only worth 250k or something like that.
