"There are many types of families", My first grade teacher would say. But I can't believe how she criticized When I brought my parents to school one day...
My hair was up in ribbons that were tied up in bows. And my feet were in the new expensive shoes in Macy's that I chose.
I walked in hand in hand with my parents on either side. And when I heard what the teacher said, I turned around and cried.
For she said that my mommies were stupid, wrong and mean. I think anyone who says that, has a brain the size of a bean!
My mommies brought me home, And sat me down gingerly. And they explained softly, Just why Mrs. was so mean.
They said that they were special, they loved women instead of men. And some people didn't understand, It didn't mean they are different. From anyone else.
They said that some people make fun of them, just because they kiss. They say it isn't supposed to be that way, But still they are my mommies, They don't have a choice They just don't like the boys.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My mommies are like this. I first figured out that the world wouldn't accepet them when a Girl Scout leader wouldn't let me join the troop because they were that way. THEY DON'T HAVE A CHOICE! Open your eyes people. You hurt so many families when you say that they can't do something because they are different. When you think about it, IT IS DISCRIMINATION! WHICH IS ILLEGAL! Sorry, but that mean the goverment is BREAKING THE LAW!
Please repost the poem if you think families like mine should have equal rights!
