Christmas affects people

2nd Nov 2007 09:10 This happened to me, Christmas of 2006. I was only fourteen, so I had a limited budget for Christmas gifts. I was buying gifts for three friends, their mom, my mom and dad, my brother, my dog, my uncle's dogs(2, my uncle, and my grandma and grandpa. This, with only 10 dollars. I went to the Dollar store. I bought some pipe cleaners in pretty colors that I could make into gifts, and some little stockings for the dogs. At the cash register, I put all of my things on the counter, and reached for my wallet. There was an older lady in front of me.
She was finishing paying for her things, and I was tallying up how much I'd spent, making sure I didn't spend too much. The cashier gave the woman her change, which included a five dollar bill. The woman turned, saw me, handed me the five dollar bill, and smiled. "Merry christmas" She said. Then she left.
I never saw her again. But that bill helped me get gifts for my family. I hope she knew what an impact she had on me.
