MARAPETS STAFF Exciting news! Feb. 27 - new internet, new IP. New and lovely home!

My name is Wolfe, not Nomad. It has been Wolfe for decades. Nomad means a Wolfe wandering around. There are many of us Wolfs, Wolfes, Wolves, Wolfies here on this site. We are a loyal breed.

Online daily (I keep a tab open) except Sabbath (Saturday). NOTE: Online status does not necessarily mean I am at computer, so please do not rely on this for missions needs

Ha! Please don't mind my attire at times. Drew insists it is the "in" thing. Sometimes I wonder. Hello!

Formerly known as Noble I was here in the early days of Marapets. I played for a long while. Sadly I had to leave due to intense studies at my college. When I returned, I did not remember my password (goodness, had been awhile!) so I made a new name, figuring I would delete this account after I was able to retrieve my old account. After some discussion with staff, I felt it was best to remain in this one (as per rules here when a new account is made). Anyway, if I recall, I also was not a very nice person then. Oh, how things have changed! I am much happier and more relaxed and enjoying life! So, this is the "new" me. The other account has since been deleted.

I have severe social anxiety disorder. This means on most days I am unable to speak to another person in any manner (real life/face to face; social media; private message; forum posts; etc. . .). I do have good days where I "come out of my shell" and am able to talk to others. This is something that has developed over the years, which is odd because I used to be a public speaker in front of many. So, I do not intentionally ignore people. I just come around as I am able, even to "touch base". Btw orange good, sleepy bad

I am currently working on various collections and avies (finding as many as I can)

Pet Peeves: a/s/l
banana hairs. Yep, banana hairs

I have been seeing a wonderful pain management specialist at the VA for over 12 years. I refuse to take anything for the pain and seeing her twice a month has really helped (I started out twice a week).

Just learned that she has accepted a position with another VA in Hawaii. I am very happy for her, yet am heartbroken as she has been my pillar with the Veterans services for all these years. She has championed me through my PTSD, stood by me while I attended college and received several degrees, was my strength in time of sorrows at the death of family members.

Yet, if it were not for the Lord leading me to this wonderful lady, I would not have been able to come as far as I have. I thank God for the blessing He gave me in leading me to a healthier, and happier, life.

Wanted to add here, I got a message from my pain management today. She looked through all of the other available doctors to find a good fit for me, someone who will pick up where she left off. It is hard to start anew as it takes time to build a rapport with a doctor, but this new doctor was my pain management supervisor and is already familiar with me and my case. I am happy that my pain management is looking out for my best interest (along with the other Vets who she was seeing). I am still heartbroken that she is going, but happy for her at the same time.

@Custard So sorry to hear about what your dad went through. And it is good to know he was able to get the care he needed. One thing I am saddened about is the struggles of non-Vets to get the care they need. My son included. While I am very thankful for the care I have received (and continue to receive) my heart goes out to those not able to get it.

My dad had ALS and, since he was a vet, he was able to get care through the VA. I truly credit them with helping him survive as long as he did <3

My mother is a disabled vet and gets all her care at the VA. I have never seen such thorough, caring care anywhere. Bless you for all you've done, you will continue to survive successfully!

One of the processes of pain management is teaching the Veteran methods of coping without the use of substances. One method of coping is forms of relaxation techniques. One of my relaxation techniques is by coming here to Marapets. I am so thankful I came back as I have met so many wonderful people whose kindness has gone beyond what I ever knew! They have been supportive here and understanding to my social anxiety and have given me great respect. Also, I hope Ian realizes that not only does he provide a safe place for us to come, he is also providing a means to direct our energies in a calm, enjoyable manner. I love Marapets!
