Just trying to spread this around as much as I can.

My MM or MT is ALWAYS open to anyone who needs to talk, I will respond to you, even if it takes me a day or two to get back online.

In light of this weeks events with the high profile suicides, I just felt the need to rant for a minute; and in this rant, I am in no way discrediting how incredibly sad and heartbreaking it is that these individuals felt like they had no other choice but to end their lives.

HOWEVER.

It's really hard to see, and heartbreaking in a way, how many people, for just a day or two get sad at the loss of a celebrity due to suicide. You post a few posts about preventing it, re-tweet, re-share and comment about the sadness around depression, mental health and suicide..

Here's the thing though; people live with depression and mental illness everyday. Your neighbor, friend, family member, someone in your community or across the planet. Hell, it may even be your significant other. Every. Single. Day. they are going through life, struggling-trying to find a purpose, feeling empty, alone and worthless. Among so many countless other emotions.

If you care or want to make a difference (which it's none of my business if you do or don't).

DO SOMETHING.

Suicide effects everyone, the person who took their life, their families, friends etc. Everyone at some point or another has or will in someway be effected by suicide. This is the harsh reality, and world we live in.

The littlest thing could change the course of events for someone forever.

Join a support group, reach out to someone in your life who has seemed a little more "distant" lately. Volunteer, get a job in Mental Health, donate to suicide prevention programs, join a chat group online. Offer an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on or whatever that person may need.

Depression and Mental Health DO NOT discriminate, rich, poor, old, young, perfect lives, someone who just can't seem to get by, veterans, librarians, school aged kids, and elderly. It doesn't matter, and just because someone ,may have not have had what you think to be a "traumatic" event or "reason" to be depressed doesn't change that they are.

So stop just re-tweeting, re-sharing and commenting, DO something, be proactive.

And if it's you that is struggling, my messenger is always open, and I am more than willing to listen and help you find the resources you need.

Just because you are feeling empty or lost, or unsure of where to turn doesn't mean that the world doesn't need you. We all have a purpose, and if you are gone too soon, the world will be a little darker without you in it.

YOUR life matters, everyone's life matters. <3
