How to win Halloween Auctions (ex: planets)
6 years, 1 month & 3 days ago
22nd Oct 2018 15:28 I think I finally cracked the code on snagging tough Halloween auctions on in-demand items.
For reference, I have a slow computer and a so-so internet connection. This is what works for me... maybe it'll help you, too?
Feel free to add your own tips or discuss/refute my tricks.
For items that aren't super popularJust want the toys/food/lesser items?
Wait at least a week after the auctions start.
Bid on a LOT of auctions for the item you want.
Preferably bid on ones with no bids. If outbid, don't rebid. Bid on another auction.
Do not bid on anything coming up soon because everyone does that and you will be sniped.
Wait awhile and you will get something. Maybe even more than one.
===Now for how to win hard to get items!===Getting ready1) Decide how many of each Halloween auction item you really want/need.
This will help your goal out as you will know what to focus on and what not to. For example, if you aren't really into clothes then Planets won't be high priority as it is clothing.
2) Watch auction names for a bit.
Some people are always at auctions and are very experienced snipers. The names will vary, but I have noted they are on a LOT. If they have won something recently, it increases your odds. If they are also bidding, pick something else.
3) Remember you can only win once every six hours.
For maximum winning odds, pick times where big auction bidders have already won something. Also time your own bids and wins so you can try to win more than once a day (if possible).
When to Bid1) Pick a time in which more than one of the item you want is ending fairly soon.
This gives the best chances at winning as there's more than one chance. The more in a row you see, the better your odds.
3) If more than one is ending within one minute do NOT pick the most recent one!
People need time to swap between auctions and you may lose out on both auctions. Plus, with everyone focusing on the one ending soonest, your chances of winning will improve.
4) Always check the item type before bidding.
Winning a retired Halloween Alien item still triggers the 6 hour bidding freeze. Also, most snipers will be focusing on these if they are available as they are rarer. Use this chance to aim for anything ending within a minute of the retired item for even better win chances!
How to Bid & win1) Choose your item with the steps I already said.
Ideally, there should be at least two or three of the same item ending within a minute of each other. Less ideal but still good: two or three Halloween alien items ending within two minutes of each other.
2) Open the auction in one tab/window and leave the auctions page in another. Refresh both and compare numbers.
This will let you know if one is running faster than the other. Often the actual auction is running faster, but not always.
3) With about 40 seconds left, switch to the auction itself and REFRESH but do not bid!
The prices should be jumping by now. This is normal.
4) Make a bid.
You will be outbid. Do not panic! Also do not refresh. The numbers will refresh themselves.
5) Have a number two higher than your last bid already typed.
This will give you the next possible bid. If it's too low, hit backspace and fix the number.
6) Keep repeating the last two until time runs out.
If you are lucky you will win. If not, the winner can't bid for six hours. Your luck just improved. Try again!
