Marapocalypse VENT

4th Apr 2017 18:53 Can I vent about this whole crash for a moment? I am likely going to sound like a horrible, greedy, ungrateful person, but at this time, I just want to be heard and get this off my chest. Judge me if you would like, I am all for free speech. I get it, we all "gained" more than we lost, I possibly more than others, but for some of us, what we lost was more important or more valuable in a personal way than the things we gained. I would give back everything I "gained" to just get my account back to the way it was. I, in no way, am posting this to get anyone to look further into this for me and get more items, I am done with it. I will just cut my losses and have learned my lesson. And don't get me wrong, I appreciate all the hard work staff have been doing. I would never want to be in their shoes during this difficult time.
There has been a discussion in AF about those of us that were still waiting on a response from our support tickets about our AU refund. A blue star responded saying they "don't understand why players assume they get AU credits back. That is not the case. We refund the items bought." The news post from March 18 stated, "Rather than slowly and manually giving back these items, we have put them back on sale. If you had purchased one and are missing any items, please send us proof of purchase by Support Ticket and you will receive a refund of your credit to purchase again." I don't get how this can be misconstrued. Thinking about it even further, it now seems like one huge scam. If the items were always intended to be returned vs the AU credits as the news states, why put the AU sets back on sale? A lot of people began repurchasing the AUs in good faith, believing we would be receiving our AU credits back in return per the news post. I personally bought 3 Scout AUs again thinking I would be getting back AU credit and was then going to buy more once I received those AU credits. I also know full well people bought even more AU with their real money to purchase them again believing they would be getting the other AU credits back. This whole thing feels like one big joke.
In the same post, the staff member then went on to basically tell me off and how I took up 2 hours of their time for them to respond to my support ticket to "only get back 9AU worth of quell items". I get it, it is a stressful time for all of us, but it was far more than 9AU worth of items I was missing. I was given 3 Scout AUs in "good faith" since there are no logs of the purchases, when I know full well I purchased at least 6-8. Given my purchase history I usually purchase at least 3-5 AU sets, and with more popular sets or LEs, I always buy more. And this being a Chibs set, I bought more. As for the quell items, I have purchased some of the ones I was missing since the return. I wasn't missing a ton, but I was still missing some. I certainly didn't mean to inconvenience staff, as I purchased the missing quell items under the impression I would be getting a refund of my credit to purchase again as per the news. Perhaps I should have let my account alone in order to get the full extent of the items I was missing. I don't care if the items missing cost 1AU or 100s of AU, that is items purchased that were essentially not received because of the crash and roll back. I feel like people shouldn't be berated over complaining about not having all of their items and stating this as being "real" money, because it isn't "real" money, it is ACTUAL REAL MONEY that we have spent to purchase upgrade items and support the site we love. Would I support this site if there were no upgrades to purchase, probably, but certainly not in the capacity I have. Perhaps the time has come to stop supporting the site with "real" money, and just play the game.
As I said, I do appreciate all the hard work staff have been doing during this difficult time. Sadly, this avoidable event happened and we are now all suffering the repercussions.
