????~We are left out. About 50,000 people die of epilepsy each year (prolonged seizures, SUDEP and seizure-related causes). That is over 10,000 more people than those who die of breast cancer annually. Bottom line? Epilepsy research is underfunded. Federal dollars spent on research aren't even close to those spent on other diseases in which affect fewer people than epilepsy. Yet how many people know what a purple ribbon means? Not enough. Help spread the facts and raise epilepsy awareness.~????
