a pathway,
a sheltered view. they sit.
together but not touching
and they both understand.
the drapes that fall from the trees
hide them,
and alone but together they know.
one final path to be taken, one walk to be took,
the pathway awaits their entrance.
with love in their hearts and tears in their eyes,
they rise.
strength gained from strength,
a hand within a hand
they step forward.
one pathway, one walk, one future,
two people, one soul.
but wait, there is more
the drapes now are rising
the wind is blowing
the storm is coming
the rain is coming
the earth is moving.
they stand and wait, watching, listening, humming
and the drapes close.
the final curtain.
but they are not alone,
never alone,
they'll always be together.
