So yesterday pultra and I got the idea of having a month-long saving challenge. Our problems were similar: We knew how to make MP, but we knew even better how to spend it. Saving is difficult, and we decided to challenge ourselves to not spend any great amounts of MP for a whole month.
First off, I know it's going to be difficult. Yesterday, when we had only just started, I ran into a few roadblock and realized that I REALLY need to stay away from Auctions. Typically I only buy Dukka Coins in Auctions, but everything(mostly potions and cossies) is so tempting!
I did a LOT of RSing yesterday, which is completely in the rules. Restocking- perfectly okay; encouraged. Questing- Okay as well; encouraged. (both of those are the main two ways that I make my money) Missions- These are okay to a point. I'm on level 26 of Blitzen, and I've decided that I'm going to put that on hold until the end of the month. I switched to the earlier levels of Bumpkin, and if I get a little too high on that, I might switch to doing early levels of a different Mission. Auctions- I like to monitor Auctions for rare items that are being sold at a discount(like cossies, etc.), but I'm trying to limit my time on Auctions, because of the temptation involved with it. If I bid on anything, it is going to be low level items that I can make a profit on if I re-sell them. Selling Board in the Forums- I'm trying to stay away from this. I had a moment of weakness yesterday when I almost bought a Superhero Female Costume from someone because they posted a topic about it. Incidentally, if anyone is selling one in a month, I will happily buy it from you then. =)
