A special thanks to marasign123 for this tutorial.

You will need:
- GIMP
- MS Paint
- The Internet

Step 1:
Open GIMP and set the size to 50X50 (The size of your avvie)

Step 2:
You'll need to open MS Paint.
We are going to use our doll as our picture.
For this step we are opening MS Paint.

Step 3:
Go to your profile and press 'Prt Scr SysRp' Or print screen located next to F12 at the top of your keyboard.

Step 4:
You just copied your screen.
You now go to MS Paint and Paste.
Your whole screen will come up now.

Step 5:
Ok, this should show you:

Step 6:
Time to put your doll onto the Avvie!
This could be complicated, so I made this:
http://i49.tinypic.com/qnnuie.jpg

Step 7:
Open another MS Paint window, Go back to GIMP and select and copy the whole picture, paste it into MS Paint and make it the right size,

Step 8:
Put a black border around it with the rectangle tool or line tool in MS Paint. Then use the white colour and the line tool and put a few lines at the sides, go back to the black and on each white line put black on both sides so your avvie looks like it's in pieces. This is mine:

Step 9:
This gets a bit more complex
Open a new window or tab and go to:
http://www.dafont.com/ernest-borgnine.font

The rest of this step will be explained here:

Step 10:
We will use the smaller text.
once you print screened it (In step 9) paste it into paint like in step 3 and 4.
I am using the text Star. I already have one with my name.

Step 11:
Now copy and paste the smaller text:

Step 12:
This is hard to explain without pictures:
http://i45.tinypic.com/23k4qw9.jpg

Step 13:
Use the rectangular tool in paint (The top right tool) and select your text. You can now pick it up and move it around.
You need to be able to see through the white parts.
You can do that like this:
http://i48.tinypic.com/53n39v.jpg

Step 14:
You can clean up your windows here.
Exit what you don't need anymore,
You need to keep GIMP up as well as your paint window with your art work. You will also need to stay on this blog. <3

Step 15:
Time for the animation.
Zoom in on your avatar in MS Paint.
Copy it, then paste it into GIMP.
In GIMP Go:
Image >> Flatten Image

Step 16:
In you Paint Window, you are zoomed in.
Select the colour you want to use and fill in ONE Letter of your text. Copy it and paste it into GMIP.
In GIMP Go:
Layers >> New Layer.

Step 17:
Continue, making the animation the way you want. you need to do the layers after each change.
They are your animation frames.
Experiment, there are diffrent animations you can do, be creative.

Step 18:
Lets see your animation so we know what it's like before you upload it.
In GIMP go to:
Filters >> Animation >> Playback

Click play and your animation will play.
Like what you have made?

Step 17:
Time to save your work.
To keep it as an animation save it as .GIF
http://i47.tinypic.com/fo2jqw.jpg

Step 18:
Click 'Save' A screen will come up, you will need to select 'Save as Animation' and then click 'export'

Step 19:
Another screen will come up. Untick 'GIF Comment' and click Save.

Step 20:
Time to upload!
I use Tinypic, when your uploading you need to click Video in tinypic so it will upload as an animation, let it upload.
Tada!
Finished

I'd love to see what you have made!

Copy what?
This was taught to me by marasign123, it was written by her and I asked her if I could use it as a blog.

Is this a problem?
