Poem ^.^

We had to write a poem for school and I thought it would be interesting to write one through the eyes of a soldier, so this is how it goes... The last verse doesn't really rhyme though, heheh.

~A Soldier's Poem~

There is a place in which we dwell
Underground, in the dark
To go to war and be heroes
We only ever fell

If we only had one minute more
To walk away from the blood and gore
Go back to our families one more time
And see the young tree branches twine

But for a while we peacefully sleep
Away from war the ugly beast
To be forgotten in due time
We didn't return with our lives
