Donna's Dream

26th Jul 2009 14:14 Donna sniffed a flower. It opened up and a blue fairy was sitting inside of it, asleep. Donna felt bad for sniffing the flower, particularly when someone was sleeping in it. She could have slapped herself for not thinking to have the common courtesy to knock first.
Donna thought about all the times someone had walked into a room she was in without knocking. She was always surprised at their rudeness. Donna also took this time to reflect on how often, she, herself, neglected to knock before entering a room. Sometimes the situation had been embarrasing. Other times, it had not.
Donna remembered people walking into her bedroom without knocking and the shock had made her spill a drink on her lap. She remembered all the lectures she had heard and given about knocking before you enter a room. Donna made a solemn promise right then and there to knock before entering a room. Donna thought of how much better the world would be if everyone took the time to knock before they entered a room. Donna was certainly going to teach her children to do so. Donna's imagination ran wild, she would write books and give speeches on why people should knock before entering a room, she would make an organization called the knockers who would go door to door and encourage everyone to knock before entering a room, lest they disturb someone. They would become an international organization and give speeches all over the world! She would open up a university for those people who wished to work at the knockers and door knocking would become a major at all colleges. She would be in magazines, on TV shows, everywhere!!!!
Donna decided right then and there that if she ever had one wish, it would be that everyone knock before they entered a room.
Just at that moment, the blue fairy yawned and opened her eyes.
"Hello," she said sweetly to Donna. "Since you have found me I will grant you one wish and only one. I can do anything. What do you wish?"
Donna wished for bubblegum.
