Pet trading forum: Oh my! (rant)

3rd Jan 2009 12:23 I have seen a real mean streak going through the forum and spreading faster than the plague ever could!
Just today I saw a newbie (maybe a month old give or take a little) get chewed out for basically asking advice on how to get an LE pet. Poor girl was met by all sorts of mean responses such as 'Go and work for it!' and 'Begging won't get you anything.' She wasn't begging, and she obviously was asking for a little more information than a simple work for it.
A lot of the people posting such mean things I can remember posting very similar boards just a few months before. Their pets equally on the lower end of the scale.
Names are another point. I've seen people post boards asking why a pet by the name of cheese_it123 can't be worth the same as the same pet named Cheese. Perfectly legitimate question, they got chewed on a bit and the board reported.
Has it really gone that far?
I for one remember when the people were halfway decent on the pet forums and would answer the questions rather than chewing people out. Not everyone knows all about how to get LE pets or how naming works. Some people are new enough that they don't know how to go about raising lots money.
As I've seen it pets have gone down to what pet is worth the most, and boards saying 'looking for over offers!' or 'over offering!' Any such thing as 'fair trade' anymore?
I wish people stop just leaping onto the board all snarls and grouchiness and actually look at the question and ponder how to give them an appropriate answer. Not everyone has experience and not everyone deserves to get chewed on just because they ask what most would consider a 'dumb question' Not everyone knows all the basics and with new people joining every day, not everyone can.
