...am I the only one as of late who seems to be getting quests which ask for rather expensive items, the sum total of which is worth much more the eventual reward will be? Elger, Borak, the Simerian Excavator just to name a few, they just don't seem to be very generous towards me.

Hector the Collector is asking for a 215K stamp on LEVEL 2? Dude, check yourself, seriously. Thankfully I'm not seriously doing that mission and just wanted it to complete the Simerian Goals.
...do you really need so many expensive Poisons and LE pet potions only to reward me with a measly 3K and a spoon? Wouldn't you prefer a nice cup of coffee or bottle of perfume? Blargh.
