Another operation

8th Nov 2022 18:56 Well, I’m having surgery again. I have a hernia in my abdomen. An incisional hernia, it is where my previous incision is. Apparently it is ???complicated??? according to the surgeon. Surgery is scheduled for this coming Monday (14th). He said plan on being in the hospital for 5-7 days. It???s going to hurt! Pain control was a joke the last time & I???m praying it will be better this time. I asked him to make it as early as possible because my daughter is going to Beijing as soon as she gets her visa. She is the only family near me & I need her to take care of my cat.
Wednesday Nov 16
My surgery went well. Now comes the healing. I haven’t been able to eat or drink yet. The surgeon said he had to extend the incision quite a bit because the hernia ended up being larger than he first thought. Pain control has been much better this go round. And over all much better too. Now my gut needs to start coming back to life so I can eat.
November 20
Came home yesterday. I guess it all went well.
November 24
I can’t eat. Technically I can but food tastes terrible. This happened when I started radiation 3 years ago. I ended up with a feeding tube & lost 30-40 lbs. My daughter arrived in Hong Kong a few hours ago. I could really use her help.

30th Mar 2022 07:10 After almost 5 years of living with family I am finally in my own place. Very excited & love my new apartment. I have moved to the city! Never ever in my wildest dreams would I thought I'd be living in the City. I have a Studio apt near the top floor with a great view. I have 2 floor to ceiling windows. I initially planned to live near my daughter & the hospital. However she finally told me she is moving out of state for a job. I was so upset about that but once the shock wore off I was happy. I want her to live her dreams. She is moving to Alaska to be a tour guide on a whale watching boat. It's only temporary (May-Oct) so she will be back. So since she won't be around I decided on this apartment downtown. I live in St. Louis with a great view of the Gateway Arch. Can't wait for July 4th when there will be fireworks. I remember ages ago when I was visiting the Arch for the 4th & thinking how neat it would be to watch from the various buildings there. It's not the safest place. Since I signed my lease about 3-4 weeks ago there has been a suicide (some homeless fellow threw himself in front of traffic, some guy shot his wife same place, a rolling gun battle & an armed robbery at the convenience store next door. My place has security 24-7 & I make a point of not going out after dark.
