hi , here is a guide on how to make a lot of mp.

preface
when i first joined this site, i was so bad at making mp... it took a long time to fully understand the dynamics and how to make millions in a day, but i figured i'd make this guide to help any users who struggle the same way i have.

guide

part one - starting from scratch

i. the pot of gold

if you have less than 1,000,000MP, you can visit for once every hour. otherwise, it's every 2 hours.
put the item you grab in your shop and price accordingly.

ii. guillotine

ideally she spares your pet and you get 25000 mp. only do this on a pet you don't really care about their costume changing.

iii. pinwheel

Land on orange to win MP, green to win RP, red to win BP, yellow for a Fake Dukka Coin, light blue for a School stat or blue for a University stat. Purple will change your pet to a random colour and/or species and then change back, possibly earning a new transformation for its collection.

iv. Christmas Tree

visit once a day. you can get MP and Christmas Crackers (which you can sell). If you visit the Christmas Tree during the month of December there is also a chance of winning a Capsule Machine Coin.

v. Clothing Rack

vi. Genie

visit once a day and the genie will grant a wish

usually i get 7500 to 20000 MP per play. sometimes you can win prizes to sell.

viii. anagram sam
you earn 25 mp for each correct answer and 100 mp for the correct answer that is on a golden tile. i made 2550 mp in one play. three daily winners will receive a Blood, which can be worth up to 5,000,000 mp.
maraguide has an anagram sam solver.

ix. mystery item

you get 2500 mp just for guessing. if you guess correctly, you have a chance to win a Time Machine token.
maraguide sometimes has the answers.

x. flash games
a. pumpkin patch

50 levels, pretty straightforward. you make mp based on your score. you also can feed your pets a retired pumpkin from past events, helpful you're trying to get rare gourmet food.

b. shimmer

30 levels, you make mp based on your score. there's guides on youtube. the prize is pretty stacked and you can get some expensive items to later sell.

c. phantom four

if you win a game, you get 5000 mp and a magic and charisma stat for one of your pets.

d. reversi, chess, draughts

Each word can be horizontal, vertical, diagonal or in reverse and the prize will increase by 250MP for each word you find. Whenever you find a word, simply drag and highlight to mark it off. The game will end whenever you find all seventeen words listed. If you can't find a word, you can press 'cheat' to find it but 750MP will be taken from your prize each time.
Find 10 or more words without cheating and you may be one of three daily winners of a Two Hundred And Fifty Dukka Coin.

f. Crossword

the real meat-and-potatoes of the guide is as follows

part two - restocking

- every shop has a specific time they restock at.
- quests and mission call for many of these items, so you can resell to the people who do them.
- try starting off buying items that have a minimum 3x resell rate or resell for over 10k mp
- once you have enough MP to currency exchange for 3AU (this is probably worth around 9MIL), BUY THE SHOP PRICER GIFTBOX. omg. this is your best friend. this will make reselling a million times easier and you can just click a couple buttons to update your shop prices.

most commonly bought items from my shop for reference
food, drinks, school supplies, slates, crystals, diamonds, make up and make up dyes, hair dye

PRO-TIP: press "command + f" if on mac or "ctrl + f" if on PC, then type in "1 in stock"
- these items tend to be rarer or resell for a higher price like at least 85% of the time. sometimes, though, they're not worth it. though, generally speaking, they are. i've gotten some really good restocks doing this.

of all the shops, i suggest:

i. at minutes 0 and 5:
candles
charity
computer parts
contact lenses
dvds
flowers
musical instruments
vegetables

a. charity with sometimes have items worth a ton. regardless, you will find items a lot cheaper there that sell for much more on shop search.
b. musical instruments is another highlight of the list, because there are pretty hard to find instruments that restock every once in a while and you can snag them.
c. vegetables and flowers are a good one because you can buy something for very cheap and resell for like 20x to 100x the price

ii. at minutes 1 and 6:
balloons
chocolates
factory outlet (BP only)
minipet food
minipets
pearls
school supplies
seeds
smoothies
sushi

a. school supplies are the highlight because their are used for training and questing
b. factory outlet is like the charity shop but BP only. if you get BP from battling, random events, currency exchange, etc. this could be a good option for reselling in your shop too.
c. i'm not really sure how much pearls are used for quests but sometimes they are some very rare pearls sold that can be resold for a large profit

iii. at minutes 2 and 7:
bakery
candy
coffee
eye makeup
halloween treats
illegal concoctions
meat
pizza
soft drinks
spices

a. illegal concoctions can be expensive for reselling, but sometimes they are rare concoctions that can be resold for a large profit
b. soft drinks are usually quick to go, so make sure you visit that shop first
c. there are some rarer candy that can be bought and resold for a large profit

iv. at minutes 3 and 8:
books
canned food
car parts
diner (fake dukka coins)
face make up
fast food
fruits
gourmet mutant food
hair dye
ice cream
stars
tattoo
voodoo dolls (RP)

a. there are sometimes rare books
b. fake dukka coins are acquired through scratchcards, site events, etc. so it might not be a bad idea to pick up less common or rare diner items if you catch them
c. voodoo dolls are RP only but sometimes there are rarer voodoo dolls that can be sold for a higher profit. RP can be gained from restocking, leprechaun quests, etc.
d. fruits are similar to vegetables, opportunity to buy cheap and resell at a high percentage

v. at minutes 4 and 9
cds
cereal
cheese
cooking ingredients (RP)
lipstick
health tonics shop (labeled magic) (BP)
mining tools
stamps
toys
traps

a. cooking ingredients are RP but you can find rarer/more expensive items to resell there
b. health tonics are BP but worth it if you have BP since people quest with them
c. cereal seems to sell the quickest with restocks

part three - questing

i. simerian excavator

you can get slates pretty easily and these resell for a minimum ~100k. these are bought by people completing the slate pyramid.

ii. haunted house
https://www.marapets.com/elger.php
elger can give crystals, which (at the time of writing this) resell for 15k. these are used by people for training their pets.

iii. candy tree
https://www.marapets.com/candytree.php
i'm not so sure how profitable this one is, but you can get candied items that sell for a high margin.

iv. aquarium

you can feed a fish every 30 minutes. sometimes you get a scholarship that can be sold to people training their pets. ex: i got a law scholarship that can be resold for over 90k MP.

v. leprechaun
https://www.marapets.com/leprechaun.php
you gain RP from completing quests. RP sells at around 1:20 so this is useful if you want to do a lot of quests and then sell on the forums.

vi. knutt knight

he's only awake during certain times but you can be awarded BP and diamonds for battling. diamonds can be resold to people who train their pets.

vii. desert spy

this one is probably better for more experienced users and would take a lot of determination. you have a restock an item from the shop itself and he will give you spy points. so far i have completed 20 quests and i have 12,328 Spy Points, so that average out at about ~600 spy points when rounded to the nearest hundred. at 1,000,000 spy points, you can buy a Justin maker from the desert spy shop. that would be about 1700 quests when rounded to the nearest hundred, but it might take less? not sure the worth on those but they're not really ever for sale i don't think... hm... much to consider.

viii. you could try other quests too, let know if there are any that are good for making mp and such. these ones (besides desert spy) seem to be the most straightforward.

part four - questing and restocking

this is really helpful! when you are questing, restock from the shops that are supposed to the carry the item that is requested. this kinda kills two birds with one stone, so to speak, so you can add to your stock shop while questing. i do this a lot and i make good mp from it.

part five - other ways of making mp

i. bingo

i have the bingo giftbox (worth 1AU/3MIL mp) so i just buy a bunch of tickets and call it a day. YMMV but i've made some decent mp, plus there are free AU/MP bingos and it doesn't hurt to just get in with the free play.

ii. obese fairy

feeding one pet a lot of gourmets can stack up mp and other prizes easily. a lot of the gourmets are accessible from the marashops and not that expensive. i'm currently doing this with Vespertine and it helps. i have the giftbox for gourmet foods but i don't really think it's too necessary, though it does help a lot if you want to grind and buy a ton at once.

iii. other fairies
these ones seem to be the more worthwhile/cheaper/easier ones to aim for

a. forest fairy

part six - epilogue

i made over 6,000,000 MP today in my shop till alone with this method, which includes using the shop pricer giftbox. i also lucked out and got over 500k from bingo... hehe... but bingo can be hit or miss.

i personally auto price anywhere from just once day if i'm busy/not active to 10+ times if i'm chillin at home and playing mara throughout the day. i'm a full-time student so mara is usually played on my downtime. i make a point to auto price every time i put items in my user shop after doing a lot of buying from mara shops.

i don't grind quests that much, i mainly restock, but i feel like i could make more if i did elger and simerian excavator more.

tl;dr
-play some flash games/do dailies to get the ball rolling
-restock items people use for questing
-do some quests, especially the more profitable ones
-restock and quest
-get the shop pricer giftbox once you get a good chunk of change (9MIL mp) or 3AU.
-bingo is a good way to get free au
-chess, reversi and draughts can get you free au
-????
-profit

I recently turned 35, which in the grand scheme of things isn't that old. I've been excercising, eating healthier (while not denying myself of the things I love), sleeping better, taking my meds. I've been going to therapy for myself and couples therapy with my wife so we can continue to strengthen our relationship. I've been working hard to have good conversations with my kids and build them up. We even got a dog that I'm training. Things are going well and fingers crossed, I hope to live a while more. We have worked through the hard times and while we are not wealthy and have to budget we don't have to worry about utilities being shut off or having enough groceries. I feel pretty lucky to have gotten here. So why have I been having so much Nostalgia lately? And what am I supposed to do with it?
More and more I have been finding myself in thoughts of the past, specifically the past of the Internet. I have downloaded programs to make my computer look and feel like Windows 95, complete with maze and pipes screensavers. Instead of having all my games sit in Steam I have icons on the desktop. I've been thinking about the old Internet, about crappy flash websites with spinning graphics, Xanga pages that friends program to play their favorite song of the week. Every time I got my hour on the family computer I would be so excited as the dial tone played about what I would discover that day.
It makes me sad for a time I know I am romanticizing from half remember moments and general feelings. What do I do with Nostalgia?
The Internet is sad to me in its current state. It feels like it has shrunk, congealed into four or five bland lumps of repetition where you can no longer assume that a human was involved. It feels like an angry place to be but it also feels mandatory.

Ok, I took a little break. I realized I was starting to catastrophize. It's not all that bad and there are good things about the Internet now.

I have never been Nostalgia before so I really am not sure what to do. My therapist said that when you refuse to feel your feelings you cause suffering. And I guess I just feel a little sad. I feel like I have lost something that probably isn't real, like the idealized version of the 90s as seen through the vapor wave genre. I guess this site, and some other similar ones, is feeding that feelings.

What do you do with Nostalgia? What is the main feelings you get from it? Do you avoid it or feed it? I'm just looking for an outside perspective.
