First of all, my computer is being fixed so all the pretty previews I wanted to share... Well now I can't lol. And idk when it'll get fixed or if I will still have my files >.> so sorry for the lackluster entry. I'm usually very flashy with these things *snort*
I'm only posting this because this is officially my last chest and I'll be quitting very very soon because my studies are way more important than this game! Besides, I feel like this was a great way to go out with a bang.
Uhhhh so first of all, I didn't plan on making any chest whatsoever this year since you know, med school and all but I was talking with Hibi one night about our past interests as a child and one of the topics that came up was how we were both obsessed with Ancient Egyptian history, mythology, culture, etc etc. At the same time, I was having a feelsy moment over one of my faaaaaavorite book series of all time (which happened to draw upon Egyptian history), the Bartimaeus Trilogy. So all of these things sort of pushed me to want to make this chest. #fangirlmoment
A lot of the pieces were inspired by Bartimaeus fan art but more specifically, "would my cosplay look like Bartimaeus at all?" |D
I did try to stay true to the original fashion that a lot of Egyptian murals depicted, hence the transparent dresses and whatnot! Same with the wig. My sister linked me to a few Egyptian hairstyle references and I wanted to keep it close to something "legit" rather than those abhorrent tacky Cleopatra wigs ew ew ew.
My favorite piece happens to be an item that isn't so Egyptian though LOL. I'm talking about the Kamilah Veil. This item had a stronger Indian influence if anything. I blame it on the fact that pretty much all my friends are Indian/Pakistani so I'm appreciating my roots more I guess? Idk I just wanted to see some more Indian-inspired clothing on here and if I had the time, maybe I would explore that but alas, not important.

Oh well. And just for the record, I didn't draw the hump gummies Everything else yes, but not the gummies~
Anyway I think that's all I have to say... The experience was half-arsed on my part since I only spent 2 hours max on it xD and... Yeah... I hope you all like it as much as I do. Make me proud with your dolls~
