Raccoons do not hibernate. During extremely cold periods raccoons have been known to sleep for long periods, but do not hibernate.
Electric eels are not true eels at all. They are knifefish.
Newts have the ability to regenerate limbs, eyes, spinal cords, hearts, intestines, and upper and lower jaws!
Nurse sharks reach maturity at about 15 to 20 years of age. Their average life span is 25 years.
